He probably means a type of healer who offends people by not applying elemental drain, throwing shards, orbs and only spamming BoL until he runs out of magicka while he is unable to get back because he's running sword and board and probably heavy armor too, so abilities cost a ton of magicka. Saw plenty of those in PuGs, along those 5-10K DDs

My favourite nightblade role is crafter.

Nah, you need light armor and high spell crit and magicka regen so you can spam all the things. IMO all 4 members in a vet dungeon should do high DPS.

There isn't a role called "offtank".

And my answer is the "healer".

UTILITY... none of the above.

Because they play less than others the game, considered that dps is tje most important thing in the game...SADLY.

Maining a templar DD, and do find it the most easiest role to perform in vet-dungeons/trials. While tanking is definitely the easiest to learn and be successfull in on low-tier content, tanking vmol-like content, where actual strategies are needed, is hard.

I also have tanked and healed veteran trials on different characters though. When you really want to understand what's going on in your raidteam, you'll need decent knowledge of all roles, their skills and their jobs, which makes you a better player imo.

Main tank's the guy with the boss beating on his face 90% of the time, the offtank usually picks up adds or taunts the boss if a mechanic requires it.

Offtanking is more fun to me.

In some trials you actually need another tank to keep aggro on some of the adds and move them away or with the boss.
Ex:
- vAA HM: you need one tank for the axes, another for the storm atronachs and boss
- vSO: you need one tank for the Manticora amd one to go down with the miniboss in the "black hole", one for Ozara and one for the big adds, one for the Serpent and one for some of the Manticora and Lamia adds that spawn during that fight to keep them away from boss and main group.
- vHRC & vMoL HM: Keep guard on the main tank and distribute the damage at the last boss because otherwise it can be one shot. Also in vMoL chain some of the adds from the other boss fights.
- vDSA: actually the healer tanks the boss while the tank thanks the adds away from the group so the roles are a bit inverted

Not required in dungeons, normal trials and even most of the non-HM vet trials. Usually the off tank doesn't receive as much damage as the main one, so it can do his job in medium armor. One of the most used sets is Powerful Assault, which buffs people the same way as SPC when a support skill is used. Mostly off tank runs echoing vigor to also heal people a bit.

GOOD DD IMO is the hardest role. Nowadays most play dps cuz its ez to pick up n play n less responsibility n less knowledge needed for boss fights. Jus pew pew n dont stand in stupid. ......n ppl still fail at dps.

I think what you are seeing is that people confuse "healer" with Templar. Just because one plays a Templar, doesn't mean one is qualified as a "healer" but from pug experience I can tell you that for a good number of people, it does.
