I'm curious what will happen to this community.
Will you continue playing after Morrowind or give up on ESO and choose another game?

It could be a poll but many people have different answers.
I'd like to read their responses.

Been playing less and less the past weeks since i read the first pts patch notes. If ZoS doesnt revert some of the changes they made and make nbs viable in endgame group content again i will have nothing to do so i will naturally stop playing then.

    Play Morrowind, have fun.

As I have said in other threads in the past, there is enough drama and stress in real life for me to care about subscribing to it in a game.

The new metas will be out within a couple of months and everyone will be doing that and telling me and other to L2P again forgetting they every drama llama'd all over the forums.

Same.t I won't be subscribed util I'm happy with the changes. And once Cyberpunk 2077 comes out I'll be moving to that.

Already bought my statue so I'm in for now. Fortunately, there are other games to play when bored/tired/frustrated with ESO that don't take the same investment (Player Unknown BG for example). Easy enough to take a break and come back.

I pre-ordered MW but after the PTS beta I cancelled both my sub and pre-order.

To temper that a bit, I was already becoming increasingly disinterested in ESO, mainly due to thin end-game content, never-ending bugs that support refuse to acknowledge - Group Finder etc - a heavy shift towards cash shop gouging and of course the arbitrary use of the term 'chapters' to describe content that may be smaller than Orsinium, itself ESO+ DLC.

I did actually do the genuine 'can I have your stuff' and gave pretty much all my money and non-bound gear to my business partner, with whom I play ESO a lot, leaving myself my bound gear so I can dip in and out before MW lands in June. However, I mostly have returned to FF14, because it just works and the sub model means we get a far better game that does not need to kow-tow to the temptations of attracting tiny-minded consumer junkies with shiny virtual tat.

I asked for my account on the forum to be disabled but ZOS refused to do this. So I am going to embark on a concerted exercise to get it closed by ban. I've managed to get one infraction in 24 hours, so that actually seems a quicker way than hoping to get any action out of the pea-brained cretins who inhabit the ZOS support team.

I think the main reason I very likely won't return to ESO for quite some time, if I do so at all, is exemplified excellently by what I am reading about today's maintenance. If ZOS cannot land a simple maintenance patch, how can they be expected to land the big nerf patch AND the DLC, ahem 'Chapter'?

The game will be very broken for quite some time IMO, and I will stay well away come June 6th.

If I do continue to play ESO, I probably won't be raiding nearly as much. Probably play more casually if at all.

I imagine I'll stick around to at least experience the Morrowind story.

After that, I don't know. Actual gameplay sure looks like it's going to be a frustration instead of enjoyment. I don't play for the gameplay; I play for the storytelling, but if the gameplay is miserable, that will trump storytelling.

I main MagSorc, so I should be okay. But I have a Stamblade alt whom I expect to park at a bank for a long time.

I won't be buying Morrowind but I will continue playing ESO. My magicka Bosmer probably won't like the changes to the resource management - whatever they'll look like when they go live - but I'll figure something out.

I'll keep playing until I get bored and I'm not bored yet. I've done this with every game I've ever played. I'll probably buy Morrowind unless I get bored before then.

Morrowind, as a subscriber on my main account and non-subscriber on my second account as now. The current fuss is primarily by a small section of the community representing a particular minority playstyle - and most of whom will be back if indeed they ever leave, just like the principled opponents of crown crates before them. Meanwhile, there will be an additional inflow of new players attracted by all the other aspects of the Morrowind chapter.

This sort of situation happens every time there's a major change, and each time most players end up wondering what the fuss was all about. I don't see this as being any different other than that this time the purpose of the change is to make the game slightly harder, which in itself many consider to be a welcome and refreshing change from all the dumbing down that has plagued MMORPGs since 2004.

I've been playing since beta, have active ESO Plus+ (never stopped paying subscription) and have pre-ordered Marrowind. Not likely to quit now, lol.

If there was another MMO that I enjoy as much as ESO, I might move on, but there's nothing new and interesting out there in an MMO. I'm a casual gamer, so still plenty of ESO to explore. Might even look into Cyrodil when I run out of zones to explore one of these days!

Between the devs stating "proper PVE and PVP balance separation takes too much effort," their refusal to see the burnout built into RNG as the only meaningful gear progression, their increased reliance on gambling and "limited time only" cash shop gimmicks, very little communication regarding these concerns, and so little reinvestment for my sub and Crown dollars in things like jewelry crafting, armor re-styling, token systems for BoP gear, weapon dying, etc., I have very little confidence in the long term viability of the game.

They could turn this around but they are very stubborn.

Sadly I believe that on the current course, with the people currently running the financial/marketing direction, the game will last about as long as it takes the jaded gaming industry to stop chasing stupid forced PVP, RNG worship, sim city mechanics, and cash shop fads and just make an awesome MMORPG subscription title that competes with it.

At this stage the best thing ESO has going for it is the new player experience and a lack of competition that isn't total pay to win Korean grind forced PVP crap. That and the Elder Scrolls lore.

EDIT: That is sort of where my head space is with the game anyway. But I have been playing for 3 years and so most of my fun has been had. New players still have the original content to look forward to before RNG burns them out, and it is good. But they will miss a lot of the cool sense of progress and independence back when crafting was strong before proc sets and the refusal to add jewelry crafting.
