Yeah, but it would be nice (& good company policy) if the differences in time zones were taken into consideration.

The NA servers seem to be done really early in the morning when few would be playing but the EU servers always seem to be done during the day.

It just feels like EU players are considered 2nd class as they can be inconvenienced without a thought. If they are in so early for the NA servers, perhaps they could come in later/earlier for the EU?

But Saying stuff like you will stop paying for the game, and that you regret paying for 3 month playtime just sounds silly.

I am sorry to say, other games manage to do this better. And the more players make their annoyance known, the better. Quite honestly, the maintenance policies in this game are weird enough as is.

- no clear schedule
- no decent twitter communication on maintenance/downtimes and so forth
- too long maintenances. 4 hours + for a regular maintenance is too long. Other games do with less.
- bad timing of maintenance. The EU servers should be taken down late in the European night (past 1 AM) and not during the day.

The reason they'd not be able to do maintenance times separately is due to the fact that both servers use the same client. This means that if the do NA on a Monday and EU on a Tuesday for example. It would mean that the client will update and EU players will not be able to log in until Tuesdays after the server has been updated to match the updated client which would have updated with the NA players maintenance.

This is pathetic another 2 hours. They dont even explain what the issue is. This is my day off to play a game i pay for monthly. Sub now cancelled as i only now pvp and as for morrowind no way.I wouldnt mind if maintenance actually fixed major issues but it NEVER does. 9 hours for scheduled maintenance?

I think the real issue is, the lack of any real communication. Instead we're getting messages stating it will be 2 hours, another 2 hours and so on. Their current line of communication amounts to the age old question, how long is a piece of string?

If there's an issue, I think most people would be a lot more understanding, but instead we're being feed nice round numbers that do neither party any good.

That makes sense when we're talking about both servers (EU and US), but with it only being the EU, that globe is considerably smaller as is the number of time zones and the gaps between them.

This is honestly getting to the point where it's ridiculous. On another game I played before this EU and US shared the same client and accounts, yet didn't need the exact same maintanance times. Usually EU was before US, and if you had updated on EU you were locked out of US for half a day. Tough luck, basically, but people didn't mind this at all.

In the past month there has been at least twice, maybe three times an extended maintanance locking out the entire EU playerbase during regular playing times. Pretty sure this is the second week in a row now where this is the case.

Maintanances without fixes are perfectly fine. We players don't have to know everything that's thrown through a maintanance, it might be setting up some things for the future. But do so at decent times, ZOS, because this is starting to get absurd for your EU playerbase (which I'm convinced still contributes a lot to your income).

If this is going to happen more frequently we might need to start some campaigns to promote all EU players turning off their ESO plus for a month. A form of protest to get ZOS to understand we matter.

The funny part is that they don't even have the balls to say its gonna be 5 more hours than normally, they keep mentioning little by little. Wtf requires 10 hours of maintenance anyway, you wasted all of Europed daytime, and before anyone says anything, the maint today is only for EU not NA. They could have arranged to do it during the night.

And it's not like theyre a small company either, they make huge amounts of money for *** like this. Pathetic

Folks you can complain about the constant maintenance and time it takes but ZOS turns a blind ear. Face it the folks at ZOS cannot get their act together. That has been proven time and time again. Many bugs and game performance issues still exist no matter how long or how short there constant maintenance down times take to complete.

Actually I'm pretty optimistic - from the description it sounds like the entire datacentres are being tweaked and overhauled. SURELY it has to improve SOMETHING.

This thread is closed. There are already many threads popping up on this issue and we have had to remove commentary from this particular thread twice already. This has not been the most constructive discussion of maintenance and can be discussed in other threads.

As a reminder, spamming mass tags of staff does not expedite information on maintenance. Few people on these lists are involved with maintenance times nor will they be able to provide further information.

In the meantime, if moderators are informed of further information we will pass it on to the community asap.
