Ashlander Dark Elf Class

The Ashlander Dark Elf
My dilemma? I want to make a lore-friendly Ashlander for Morrowind. I have read up on Ashlanders and they are warriors that do mess with Destruction but that is mostly the older wise woman.

I know I have another thread, but I thought I would post a poll. Whatever wins I will go with. DK vs Sorcerer. I do want some minor hybrid (I know, I know) fun so I might pull out a bow from time to time but mostly be Magicka. So keep that mind. I am going staff and bow (don't laugh). I wont be doing too much end game stuff just for questing so I feel Dark Elf is the best class for a possible hybrid.

Sorcerer Pros
Top damage. Dark Elf sorcerer just sounds cool. Lots of ranged spells.

Sorcerer Cons
According to lore, Dark Elf casters mostly cast fire spells and Sorcerer spells are mostly lightening. Does anyone remember in Morrowind or other TES games if they fought Aslanders that used lightening?

Dragonknight Pros
Fire damage bonus throughout meshes well with the Dunmer. Feels like a good candidate for a Dark Elf Ashlander.

Dragonknight Cons
DK's seem more like a Nord class to me. Almost all spells are up close. Would that work with a staff doing most of the ranged damage? Would I need to go with leather?

I appreciate all help, thanks!!

The most important part of playing an Ashlander is making a keybind to post "N'wah" in the chat for you, and to never ever ride a horse because horses are food

FIRE! I made one recently named "From the Ashes". plenty of fun to play as well as getting into the character. Though, for me it requires not fully going with meta gear but still, can get by ok in PVE.

You should just put your preconceptions based on the classes name aside and make your decision, DKs are just a class that uses fire, poison and physical damage depending on your spec, and Sorcs are just a class that does shock damage, physical and magic damage. Don't associate the word dragon with anything, nor the word sorcerer with anything, it will just complicate your decision without adding a real variable because other than the lore books there is NO LORE for ES classes since every ES game before this one hasn't had classes, just a word that loosely defined a chosen play-style.

Leather? You mean medium armor? You won't get anything beneficial from that if you're a Magic character.

i think nb, warden and dragon knight works the best for an ashlander...i started a warden ashlander character since nearly all the animals are from vvardenfell too

Ashlanders are nomadic Dunmer. Dunmer thrives on fire. Ashlanders mostly reside on Vvardenfell, which basically is just one volcano waiting to go boom.

    DK LOVES fire.

Sorcerers dillies in all fields of magic hurt and does not compare to DK with pure fire lava melting scorching damage.

So logic dictates the only reasonable class then would be DK.

I'd also say DK. since this is an MMO, character design has certain MMO restrictions so being perfect with the design (in terms of lore) would probably be too hard while also being an effective character to play (in an MMO).
I tried making my main char from TES4&5 - she is basically a spellsword using swords and fire destro magic - but I couldn't utilize both the dual wield tree and DK flame tree in ESO well enough since she'd have to be a hybrid. ultimately I had her use dual wield skills with stamina DK flame morphs and a few magicka ones. anyway DK is definitely better than sorc though

Dragonknight for the Ashlands and Warden for the not-yet Ashlands Ashlander.

I'd choose Dragonknight or maybe Warden. Dont know, TESO sorcs look more like house dunmers than ashlanders imo. Dk's volcanic theme, on the other hand, would work well with ashlander magic. Maybe your character would take inspiration from ashlander poetry? :)

And I would disagree that its a Nord class, its just Skyrim fans who created the "Nord DK = Dovahkiin" stereotype.

the benefit with a dragon knight is that you could play a magicka class but as well as a stamina - and the stamina set red mountain would be thematically very fitting and enhance all youre fire damage in case you want to go stamina

Ashlanders worship some daedric princes. Sorcerers channel power from oblivion/daedric princes. Seems better suited compared to dragon themed spells
