Why there are still rubber-banders/bots where EVERYBODY (even ZOS) knows they are?

Why? Why if we have reported them a thousand times?

Why ZOS says they care if ZOS know the exact places (Alik'r Anchors for example) but "rubber-banders" and bots are still there? Why?

Today I even joined a group (see picture) that had afk players with automatic heavy attacks. One was even CP169.

Why ZOS still allows this, again, even when ZOS knows exactly where these cheaters are?

Even the group leader was heavy-attacking afk:

    "Rubber-banders"?
Rubber-banding is a term used mostly in action role playing games where lag causes you to jump back to where you were a couple of seconds or milliseconds ago, depending on the severity of the issue.

And on consoles it's called rubber banding because people use rubber bands to hold the triggers down.

Living languages aren't static. Meanings change over time. New ones are added.

Who cares about the term?! You know EXACTLY what I mean.

Actually I didn't, hence the question mark. ;)

I saw a bunch last night on PS4 NA outside Bearclaw Mine, NW of Weeping Giant Wayshrine. Besides dolmens, this seems to be a popular spot - I see them here often - but the reporting feature on console is so cumbersome that it's not worth the hassle. I don't even know what new players must think when they see this sort of activity but to me it makes the game seem abandoned to bots and nobody is "minding the store"

ZOS needs more Game Masters on console - I play a lot, and I have never once seen one. Would go a long way to cleaning up the game. I see obvious bot posts in PS4 zone chat (not to mention all the toxic abuse posts some people hurl at others from the safety of their basements)

Rubber banders are annoying, no doubt about it, but at least I know how they're doing that.

The ones that get me are the obvious bots farming werewolves in Camlorn in identical groups of 3/4 toons standing all on top of one another, with the same name, and a half billion sorc pets running around -- on console. I don't know how they're doing this on PS4. I've poked around the web a bit for an answer but haven't found one yet. They're pretty clever, these scofflaws.

This should even be pretty easy to catch automatically.
Easiest would simply be to not include an button down in the inactivity timer reset.
You will log out if inactive, if holding down an button is not seen as active you will be logged out after 10 minutes.
Problem solved, it will not solve pc players with macros casting an ability every 5 seconds but this is less of an issue.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

You'll get the low level offenders but not the more advanced ones running programs to have a group of 4 with pets running the same route over and over using a program. Kind of like how a car alarm stops the low level thieves but not the more trained ones.

Was just about to throw some PC versus console argument your way but then I saw Contra was from 96 and I first encountered rubber-banding as a term in 98 playing Diablo II - so you win this one! ;)

They have one ToS person for all 6 megaservers, and he is busy right now. Please leave a message. Oops. Voice mail mailbox is full.

I keep telling ZOS that they need to run down the the basement to check on this guy. He might have died, or quit. If they don't check on him periodically, how do they even know he is coming to work?

More seriously, I do think they are understaffed in this area. While it sounds like a simple matter to run to a particular dolmen and smite the players, multiply that "simple matter" by the number of dolmens where this happens, then multiply that by 6 megaservers. Add to that the bot trains in Shadowfen, and other places, on each of the megaservers. Add to that the people complaining about language, or any number of other ToS violations, across all megaservers, that might end up with that team.

    I see them frequently too.

Worse was that yesterday, I think it was in Alik'r, I was going to pick up a alchemy node and got the message "Someone else is already using that" and a second later, the node vanished. Nobody was even remotely near me, so I was left wandering... are the underground node farmers back?

Back in 2014, there was an infestation of characters that were placed under the ground by a hack, just below a node, running a macro to pick it up as soon as it spawned. Bad memories.

ZOS needs to hire GameMasters that do on-location Moderating and Temp Bans if necessary. This "Report and maybe we'll get around to it" approach is what distances the playerbase from respecting the Devs.

It would be so simple. A GameMaster is notified of shenanigans happening at your location, they Teleport to you, see the shenanigans, and proceed to force log-out or temp ban every player caught in the act. All those people would be gone from that Dolmen within five minutes.

Oh, yes, because wikipedia is the be-all, end-all of terminology. Not.

This is a console specific term referring to people using rubber bands to hold their triggers down. Hence: rubber banding.

Words can have multiple meanings. And in this case, they do.

Also if you go back and look at the entry, you'll see that the console definition has been added.

And if they have auto-loot on they are collecting lots of mats and possibly some good dropped equipment, although their inventory would fill up eventually. But if they're subscribers they have the crafting bag and could load up on mats this way.

Not at dolmens they're not, you still have to actually click on the dead body/chest to get the loot, and they don't do that, they just stand in place on their perches and continue to auto-fire. I have auto-loot on my character, and I can state with assurance I don't get loot unless I click on something to collect it.
