Daily Limit for Stolen Goods

Any chance it will be increased to eg 200 items or doubled?
Currently max 140 is way too low considering real thievery. After selling 140 there is still plenty stolen loot in inventory and the need to wait till next day is annoying. And so far I can earn about 10-12k gold per day from selling these 140 items. When trading items I can earn 10x more in few hours.
The idea that each skill point put into Legerdemain Trafficker 2-4 gives only 10 items more is mediocre and needs to be reworked imho. 10 items more is just 3-4 npcs robbed or several seconds of other stealing activities. Please increase the limit. Gaining profits from thievery should have less limits and should be much more profitable.

Ok, but white items are also designed as stolen loot to sell. Should I destroy white items just because I need space for more expensive loot? I don't like this idea. I should be given enough space to sell all loot. The Trafficker's limits should be reworked, we push forward, we change the game, why this is still on the same level.

I think the idea is to not take the white items to start with. If you're autolooting, and autostealing, then you have to choose to destroy or wait til the following day. The alternative is to not autosteal, and then choose which items you do steal, taking green/blue and leaving white behind...at least the way it's set up now...

The white items are a new thief's first prizes. They can turn them into cash, and scamper off gleefully. To a professional, they're just garbage. So... yes, you should destroy them to make room for stuff you can actually make some money selling.\

The daily limit is so that you can't completely break the economy with those things.

I only sell green or higher quality items, but I still feel that 140 items a day isn't enough. With the huge goldsink that Homestead created, I think that the item limit should be increased to at least 200

    Pretty much this.

If you're serious about stealing try and go for blue items as minimum. Sell white and green items only if you're desperate. You can easily grab 140 blues in a day and it'll net you way more gold :)

Don't fence white items, launder them and then sell them to a merchant for zero profit but it counts towards that 1M gold laundered achievement. I'm already at 600K+ after four months of being a thief.

Because selling only green or better items will net you at least 15K-20K a day, not 10K.

Another bonus for not auto-loot stolen items is that you don't get accused for theft by clicking on an container by mistake and you don't get up grabbing all sort of junk like lockpicks, style stones and common food items.
You can also look in higher risk areas and see if its worth going for item.

In gold / hour its probably better to steal on low level horse feeding alts and seal white items too.

Trading isn't really equivalent, from a game-system point of view. That's just shuffling gold between players (with a cut taken out, if it's through a guild shop/COD). Fencing items, on the other hand, is generating new gold into the economy.

That said, it is a bit odd that the first rank increases your fence limit by a huge amount, and then the later ranks are just a bit.

...how do you find so many blue items, that you can sell just them? When I was doing big robbery sessions on my nightblade, I'd find maybe 2-3 blues out of ~100 items to fence. And I think I've only seen 3 purple items in the entire time I've played ESO.
(at the moment, I'm not robbing seriously. I just take a run through the Lydia in Daggerfall every time one of my alts drops off the daily crafting writs. Usually, they find 0-1 blue items.)

WTF? Why in the world are you selling 40g items? No wonder your daily limit is exhausted quickly.

Pro-tip: steal only green+ items only.

Not only will your limit be easily managed, but you can make much more than 12k per day. Simple math: 140 + 100g = 14k.

And that's green only items. With your increase in Legerdemain, you'll start seeing more blue and purple items.

My character is level 17 in Legerdemain and practically all I see are green and blue items. Purple are rarer, but that's to be expected.

Hmm. My main is at least that high, and still sees plenty of white/not much blue. Does the container looted make a difference?

No, the container shouldn't make a difference. It's RNG, of course, so the green/blue/purple ratio all depends on what the game decides, but you should see many more green items than you did when you started.

I should point out these items do include weapons and armor valued at 100g+. Many people leave these behind because they don't want to bother with them in crafting, but these items shouldn't be used for crafting. Sell them!

Not sure what faction you're playing in, but I believe every one has a bank which has an area you can run about and loot. In Vulkhel Guard, for example, there are about 12 containers I can loot. I walk out of there with at least 2 green pretty much every time.

Unfortunately, there have been times all I see are lockpicks and water.

Such as life with RNG, I suppose.

I´m at legerdemain 20 and out of 140 stolen items I get 20-30 green, 1-2 blue and 0.1 purple items.
Guess I´m just unlucky, then. If I would only fence green and above I would cut my profit severly, because the time to get enough green/blue/purples would eat up all my gaming-time.

ThIs exactly and daily take is easily 18-20k.

The 140 max is probably to bring to bring about a choice of going for higher quality or going for speed.

Wow! That is way, way lower that my average. For every white, I usually have 3-4 greens and one blue.

Eh. It's generating new gold into the game economy, and it can be done with no threat/combat/etc.... I can go to (for ex) the Inn on Bleakrock Island (post-quest instance) and there's no NPCs there & a couple dozen containers. Load in & out to refill everything.... having no fencing limit would be amazingly broken. And with the thieves' guild fencing Assistant, you'd never have to leave to go to an outlaw den (yes, 30% less income, but no need to travel.)

Guess we could limit mob drops per day to 140 as well. Or maybe just what you can sell to a regular vendor. Come back tomorrow ... ?

I don't know if I would need the number raised from 140 per se (but one shalt max haggling up to 10% if serious B) ) but I don't feel "thin air" is an argument.

You might not have your armour degraded as in farming mobs the regular way but farming it is and there is a potential to lose all your "progress" (aka time) - I was pretty miffed when that bolt killed me :'( Who uses a crossbow against an unarmed peaceful thief?! Of course it could be done with zero risk but how much risk do you have melting dolmens in a group.

By that logic the portable vendor is already an unfair advantage because your inventory space is limited and here is a big time saver. At least the thief version takes a 35% cut to make up for the time savings - and I think it could be a compromise to make her unlimited or at least have her own limit - but then the p2w will come up again even though it would be cheaper than the portable vendor.
