Out of curiosity, anybody ever use this? I've been skyshard hunting in my main, so I threw on a resto staff instead of my usual double destro.

It's very true. A great combo is to hit Healing Ward first, then hit champ.
You'll have a massive ward - that has major protection (30% DMG reduction to the ward too) full health and 30% critical damage buff.
It lasts a solid amount of time and is extremely cheap, a PvE player has a build with something like 80% up time.0
