Every time you get soul assault, you can not activate dark cloak for a fraction of a second even though you are at max magicka.

Well, if you read the skill description, you might find a reason for this.

Please show me where does it say that soul assault "nagates" dark cloak because that's basically what happens. Does soul assault has some sort of negate built into it like the sorc ultimate? because i sure as hell don't see it on it's description. @jamesj118b14_ESO

Enemies affected by this ability are revealed for 2 seconds and may not enter stealth or invisibility.

oh wow i had to see the description and morph it in the game. I was reading from the wikipedia but i see what you mean. I don't ever use soul assault now so i wouldn't know. This makes it even more broken and here i thought it was an unintended bug all the time but the devs actually thought about it. I really can't wait for red dead redemption two.

Have to agree with OP. I also started playing about a month ago. Been playing sorcerer and blowing through pve content. No challenge at all. Tried NB and the balance difference is painfully obvious. Sorcerer I can play the game with one hand and one eye closed while eating a snack. Nightblade you have to have use everything and lock yourself in a room for full uninterrupted concentration. I'm hoping it gets better at higher levels, but so far it is not.

I love my Nightblade.... Yes she's squishy, but I love ambush into surprise attack.... I don't have amazing gear, but I can get surprise attack to one shot targets from stealth.. I feel like that's op... My Stam DK can't hit that at all... granted I play Ji'Kama as DOT based not burst

Nightblades need a pop heal, imo.

NB was once fairly OP due not to the class but to game mechanics that synergized with the class really well. Because of this they changed a bunch of things and it ended up nerfing the class.

No time soon will you see NB have positive changes.

Just depends on the content. I started ESO as a hybrid nightblade class, mostly because I didn't know what I was doing. Game was harder back then, and I likely made it even more harder for myself using stamina and magicka abilities together.

Just due to the absolute ease of solo content, I don't think judging builds is very fair when you look at any storyline content. It really just boils down to grouped PvE and PvP content.

Nightblades are already judged a lot harder in group content. But the heavy nerfs to come with Morrowind just don't add up for me. I think ZOS as a company is focusing too much on gaining new active users over making it feel like progression in this game means anything. They took away levels with OT, so I get to fight alongside people with large gaps in experience gained. Cyrodiil PvP is going to be "fair" in that I can't gank someone in one or two shots because they chose not to use mage light, revealing flare, camouflaged hunter, caltrops, AoE attack, gear such as the sentry, or any other method of finding a stealth player out there.

I'm just at a loss for what a single target DPS build is going to be good for moving forward.

Oh for duels on dks. Our Dots get cleansed most the time when fighting templars and also our damage gets out healed by a simple burst heal of our dots.

I have been playing ESO for a month.

I have been maining a stamblade so far (around 20 now) and just for kicks I started leveling a Sorc.

I find a world of difference with respect to the ease of leveling and survivability as Sorcerer.

I am nearly invincible against trash/regular/quest/x number of mobs.... and even pretty tough to own in duel.

Nightblades are in serious need for some buffs or something...I could be wrong ofc seeing I have not maxed out my NB but my gut instinct says that the NB toon will not magically become better at max level when compared to Sorc.

Well then what does this tell us and people at ZOS...

    I mean...

You know you F'd up if even new players notice a LONG-TERM problem after only a couple days.

PS: DO NOT NERF SORCS, BUFF EVERYONE ELSE. Ty.
