Idk really. I just respecced my stam DK to a mag DK and he does take a bit more damage due to switching to light armor but he actually has a heal in rotation unlike the stam.

Seems ok. I could still solo a public dungeon so that's cool. Maelstrom on the other hand I have yet to bring him there...

A bit squishy. Pop spike armor on you back bar that should help

Doesnt spike armor pull aggro or taunt enemies in dungeons tho?
I thought dk was the most tanky magic class cause of the tanking passives but hes one of the squishest?

I actually have 10 points in Hp on my dragonmage.

The issue is more that you end up in closer range than the other classes so it is harder to kite.

Spike armor doesn't taunt, also harness magicka shield is useful.

Magicka DKs need to rely quite a bit on defensive buffs and unlike Templars and Sorcs, DKs don't have a very good healing skill compared to other classes except for Dragon Blood. But even Dragon blood can not be very effective depending on where you put your champion points into.

No taunt, just a small dot. If you don't want to have it do damage hardened armor procs a small damage sheild instead

My magicka DK isn't squishy, but I use mostly heavy armor. The enchantments on the armor are a 50/50 mix of magic and health enchantments.

I've heard VMA is really easy on a mag dk cause of flappy wings

If your running as a dps the your not tanky. DKs as as squishy as anything else for that matter. Stand in the damage and do nothing to avoid or mitigate and one will probably feel squishy.

Move around, shield up for heavy damage and tear through most anything.

Well thats crappy ha sorc is long distance never have issues.
With templar sure its closr combat stand your ground type but i also never feel squishy maybe due to heals or something not sure.
But with dk lol its also close combat but man feel ultra squishy kinda like a NB lol why doesnt the magic dk havr anything to help him?
Like with templar u got this aura that buff ur resistance with dk u got something similar but i heard it pulls aggro
/taunts enemies(volitile armor)so its more for a tank setup than dps.
And bubble but that can be on all characters tho

Volatile does not taunt enemies....Whoever told you that has no clue what they are talking about. Use volatile armor or even hardened armor and just use burning embers and others thibgs, Keep harness magicka on your bar. You're a dk. You have like abilities that heal you as they do damage. Use them

    @DivyathFyr

I play all classes and don't have an issue. I've cleared vMoL on all 4 classes.

Key is areas awareness to avoid damage, since magika shield for heavy unavoidable damage and know your class well.

I just spam Restoration Staff Skill "Blessing of Restoration" like a motherf****r. Resto heavy attack with health or magicka leech and Blessing of Restoration. Burning Embers and/or Harneder Armor and/or Igneous Shield and/or Molten Armaments gets you pretty far. At least I solo some undaunted group dailies and watchacallit those harder dungeons with these skills. With crafted or bought gear. May take some time but gets the job done, so who cares? :)

Oh damn does healing ward protect and heal the caster, too? I've always thought it works only on allies and not the caster.

Yeah that is why I asked. I haven't used it while soloing just because I have always thought it useless and only working on allies. That if I go solo, it doesn't do anything.

Learn how to use burning embers. One of the best heals in the game, in my opinion.

Well frag. They really really really should change the text on that skill:

"Call on your staff's strength to protect whichever ally has the lowest Health, healing them for [y] and giving them a ward to absorb [x] damage..."

But now I know. I am also my ally :) Time to redo my tabs. Joy! My soloing gets easier <3

The rule is that if you really need your healing ward, it'll go to some other player instead. :/

I love my mDK for PvP and I think it's ridiculously tanky. Just run double sword and board. Coagulating blood is a great heal that can crit for 8-9k so no need to run resto staff. Hardened plate, volatile armor and S&B and you'll be around 31k - 29k on spell and physical resists. There are plenty of good class skills that don't require a destro staff.
