Have some etiquette in this game.. please.

Just as in real life, there are certain things that get under your skin. It doesn't matter what people will say about having thick skin; "no one" truly has thick skin and can withstand and tolerate everything. So, playing in ESO has the same effects as real life outside of the game. You have the good helpful Eagle Scouts, team players, and qualities of decent everyday people, then there are also those scammers, cons, thieves/crooks, shammers and not so decent qualities of people. Whatever.. yes, it is just a game, but please.. this is a MMO (at least, considered to be) with other "real" people playing; real people with real emotions and tolerant levels. I'm not talking about zone text chats here where you can easily ignore or turn off. I'm talking about having some etiquette within this game and try to be somewhat considerate to other people/players. I realized I have some pet peeves within this game. Here goes:

- Please do not just go right in and start unlocking a chest or node when another is there first, but battling off an add or adds. Yes, there plenty of other chests and nodes; so what.. it is the principle of things. Go get your own damn chests or node elsewhere!
- Please take all contents within a chest or node. Doesn't matter if spawn time is no different or not. Just take all the damn things from within already!
- At a dolmen, please do not just stand there or just going to pinion after pinion waiting to press; especially when there are only two of you there. There is fighting going on with only one person fighting off the adds enough for two (or more.) Get in the fight, dammit, and quit worrying about the damn pinions!
- At a dolmen or world boss, please do not just wait or hide nearby and then come in at the end when the boss's hp gets low just to get the few hits in needed for completion while another has been doing all the work.
- Please farm your own mats and gold and quit trying to scam others for mats or panhandle for gold. (Panhandlers in this game. Really? Ha ha)
- Please stop spamming duel after the first decline. Go to any capital city or Cyrodiil and you can duel all your heart out.
- Please stop throwing mudballs at a dye station. Kids nowadays.. sheesh

Ahhh, what else. Ok, you guys can add on what other pet peeves you may have within this game that others are doing that may have gotten under your skins.

I agree with you. Except the part about looting chests/nodes. I'm not picking up that green ruby ash flame staff, and I'm not picking up crawlers or worms. Sorry.

    100% agreed with this post!

even if it's a game, people should be able to behave.
Also stricter guidelines for scamming/cheating would be nice =)

Gonna agree on the chest/node thing. Given extremely limited bag space , I'm not taking what I'm not after. Often that means I've left a purple item behind etc. Not just junk items. Don't have time always to run back to a bank or whatever to make space. Blame ZoS for that not me.

To be honest, for chests/nodes, some people have limited inventory and leave items there as a result. I think we just have to accept this. Take pleasure in the fact you helped clean up that node!

For racing to the node, don't hate the player, hate the game.

I hear you.. and yes, it's not the end all or worst thing to occur in the game, but when you come up to a used chest, you can't help by say, "What the?!" Especially, when you're also a treasure hunter and come upon used chest after chest, consecutively. It just irked you, at the most. Also, you can easily destroy any crap item in the inventory you don't want to make space.

Have done this. But not due to hiding, just due to riding up at that point & joining in as doing Fighter's Guild writ and only have limited time to play so can't always wait for it to respawn. Apologies if it annoys people but I do at least come in all guns blazing, so to speak.

I hear you. This is common. I happen upon or get to a dolmen at the last moment, from time to time. However, I'm talking about when certain are there from the beginning, and you can see them hiding behind a brush or in hidden mode, in general. After running killing around the dolmen, you can clearly see that dude or dudette twitching or moving while in hidden mode. Then, he/she comes in when the boss is at low hp. Just irks you.. that's all.

    People can also simply afk.

I'm guilty of this sometimes. If I come in and dolmen isn't active (or we just closed one, so I need to wait for it to respawn), I sometimes honestly wait. But sometimes I want to grab a snack, go for a smoke or... you know... biology :D So yeah, I go into sneak mode behind some rocks and afk.

And yeah, sometimes I return when dolmen is on the final phase. So I go "OH SHI", sprint in and cast some DoTs :D

The pinions end the fights sooner, and when all four are down, it kills off the remaining daedra.
If there are a lot of people at the dolmen, though, then people shouldn't press the pinions at all until the daedra are dead, in my opinion, because people might be there to farm experience. If there are only two people, though, then pressing the pinions is a good thing. So it depends completely on how many people are there, and whether the person doing the pinions is being a lazy sot about fighting.

That's what happens most of the time. I've never actually seen anyone hide until the last part of a dolmen fight. Mostly it's just people hearing the fight and then running up to it.

I find it comical how many things in this game irk me, though they shouldn't. People should enjoy the game, regardless if it irks me, because to them, they don't see these as issues. I simply get miffed, then move on and quickly forget about it.

But I must share my list, because it'll change nothing, but it'll help me vent.
    • People who stand in front of doors, especially to banks
    • People who "run" on their mounts while riding them. It looks stoopid.
    • Going for an enchanting node only to find a "Ta" remaining. Errrrrgg. Grab it, then destroy it if you're "low" on bag space.
    • Going for a node only to have someone zip by me to get to it first. To me, this is actually worse than someone grabbing a node while I'm dealing with the trash, because the other knows I'm going for the node. There's no guarantee the person fighting the trash was doing so to get to the node.
    • Players who constantly cast their spells in cities, forcing my weapon to be drawn. I've a few choice words for these people, but posting them here gets me banned. Use your imagination. Duelers, take your fight somewhere else.
    • Trying to break into a safebox "guarded" by a merchant, but a player interacts with them which seems like forever, preventing the merchant from moving so I can steal their loot.
    • Public dungeon zergers who intentionally run around taking out bosses in 2 hits while everyone else has to wait for a respawn (which can take up to 10 minutes)

But the worst, absolutely most detested thing I come across in the game are the people who crunch on their potato chips while in area chat. The mute button is there for a reason.

Runner-up: do us all a favor and put the game down and take care of your screaming kid, which actually is an issue which is problematic on so many levels.

Yes, I hear you, but why go afk at a dolmen. I usually go afk at the wayshrine near the dolmen. When the dolmen is up and fighting has been going on and you're still afk right at that dolmen (although, dolmen are not that hard for an experience toon) you're still screwing the dude sololy fighting all the adds. By you being there, hidden or afk, whatever, you're causing more adds to spawn at that dolmen. Just like those damn worthless rubber banders or bots, whatever you call them. They are just causing more to spawn. Ok, you're in a group where others are also fighting, yes, you're fine. However, when you're just fighting all the extras by yourself, than that other stagnant toon(s) are just screwing you.

To be honest, I've never noticed that much of a difference between one person and two people at a dolmen in terms of difficulty/spawn. And most people who go AFK at the dolmen intend to come back before it comes up but something comes up.

    It depends on distance :)

If the sneaking dude is close, yeah, they screw you over. I made this mistake in the beginning of my eso experience :) Stay close and even if you sneak, you will return and see that your char is dead. You are counted if you're close. You add adds and you can be killed.

But go a bit farther and no, it's all fine :) When I return, I'm still in "Hidden" mode. And if you're close, yeah, you are "Detected" when you return, if you're still alive :) Even if adds do not touch you, you're still "Detected".

So if you can see them, but they are on some distance from dolmen, they're doing no harm :)

@GreenhaloX , If it's a small group, odds are better than not that at least something is going to aggro to you, wherever you are. It's as simple as a light attack. It's faster to close then pinion when it opens than to have to chase them after everything's down.

Regarding the second point, if you're there to farm XP, you're losing XP by not closing the pinions ASAP. You're going to lose the kill on < 10 adds at most, usually far less. There is way more XP granted by killing the boss and closing the dolmen than there is in killing 3-4 more adds you have to chase.

I almost guarantee the time lost in chasing those last few is costing you extra dolmen closing you could be getting instead.

The argument can be had that it won't make a huge difference either way, but if you're really wanting to make the most of your time via dolmen farm, close the first 4 ASAP (not to mention they give resources back, which makes killing and closing go even faster.)

The only etiquette I care for is in groups /trails.

When you have ppl judging a player based on their CP.

Eg pug finder and get a 200 healer, 600 DPS "oh let's kick low cp healer"
    Without giving them a chance.

That's the only thing imo, time is precious and it annoys me how ppl would make that person wait 15 mins without giving them a chance.
