Attunement with NPC monster and NPC factions...

I think there is a HUGE opportunity here for unique quests, dialogue, atmosphere, and rewards.

For example, take the Nereids. There are lore books which describe a priesthood that worships them, and some actively play a role in the conservation of natural environments, though the one in particular I am referring to is more of a "trickster spirit" bordering on malevolent toward those that threaten her sanctuary, there are others as seen in Arx Corinium that are actually willing to communicate and work together with human/elf races.

The point is though, it would be awesome to be able to attune with say the "nature" faction and gain perks like being non-hostile to Spriggans, Nereids and certain other creatures, even being able to talk to the sentient ones and sometimes get backstory or even quests. Or join the Vinedusk Rangers. Or become a disciple of the Two Moons.

Quests and rank could reward unique housing opportunities, costumes, furniture items, etc.

Morrowind would be the perfect opportunity to add some cool new faction content, by allowing the player to attune with the Ashlanders, Great Houses, and in particular, the Vampire Clans.

Higher ranks could offer new quests, cosmetic items, even unique housing opportunities.

This could give players both a sense of accomplishment as well as a unique identity for their character, and also a sense that they are part of a living interactive world where their actions influence the game experience.

They've already hinted that you will be able to do quests for Ashlanders and the great houses in Morrowind. As for joining "creature factions" ...ehhh it's been pointed out in dungeons and other zones that most monsters will only accept a strangers help to accomplish their goals. Most of the time after that it involves betrayal of some sort or death by adventurers. Would be a neat idea, but i don't think a faction of goblins would last past the "Let's get a band of adventurer's" part before theyre turned inside out for goblin teeth and gold.
