I know how tempting it is, ZoS, to put something like this in the Crown Store. However we already have something that we can pay for with RL money to reduce the overall research time considerably -- ESO+.

Double-dipping into it would be a most foul taste. Don't do it.

It's a good thing to keep new players interested.

Try to consider the perspective of someone just joining the game with Morrowind. It can turn a lot of people off when they realize they need to spend 2 years researching all this stuff to catch up.

Except a new player isn't going to have the master writ vouchers to buy them. I don't think this is for new players at all. More like veteran players who are leveling another alt, or researching on that new warden. I imagine a new player starting at morrowind release will take quite a long time to amass any decent number of vouchers.

Currently I have around 300 vouchers and don't have a desire to buy anything with them. I haven't bought a bunch of attuned tables since between all my guilds all of the hard to get to tables are already there.

Won't be too hard for any new player to get the hang of the game within a period of months and learn how to earn enough gold to buy vouchers. At least there is a path open to any of them who want to become master crafters beside just waiting around for a year or two.

And nice option for those who have been playing a while as well.

It's another way for master crafters to earn some gold. Another way to sell some vouchers. Sell some crafting scrolls to people who need them.

I also don't see too much wrong with selling these scrolls on the crown store. If you want to spend a bunch of $$$ to decrease your research time one day at a time, power to you, and thanks for supporting the game.

My final trait finishes its research in about 23 hours from now.

If they sell for Vouchers, there's a chicken and egg problem going on. If you have nothing researched, your odds of getting a Master Writ are dismal.

If you have enough vouchers to waste them here, clearly you're just impatient to get Nirnhoned researched on your 11th Grandmaster 9-trait-in-everything crafter.

Run master writs for consumables from other chars and fund your main speedy research.

Also, if these master writ vendor ones are sellable that will be a money maker.

Im very sad to see this added to game. Research time was Last thing requiring long term dedication - and most important everybody was equal there (you cant skip research timer no matter how rich you are and how long you play each day).

The meaning behind "Master Crafter" is consequently diminished patch after patch. Soon, a whole way of playing, being a crafter, will be gone from ESO because when everyone is master crafter, nobody needs master crafter.

First we had nerf to crafter gear (crafter gear had slightly better stats than looted gear)
Next heavy shift of meta from crafted gear to looted
Going further in time several events that flooded market with motif chapters diminishing achievements of people who put passion into collecting motifs.
Homestead - casualification of furniture crafting - complete detachment from research
    And finally this, Research Scrolls.

If they make it into live game, it will be end of crafting. Everything from Crafting Skills, to Motif knowledge up to Research will be "Pay Gold 2 Max out".

Saw this in the latest PTS patch notes...
    Master Writs
    • Added Research Scrolls to the Master Writ merchant. These scrolls will reduce each active research time of a given tradeskill by 24 hours and have a 20 hour cooldown.
I have a bucket of unspent Crowns due to my subscription. I just found reason to spend them, if these scrolls hit the store.

Coming back to the game after a year's absence, I've quite a bit to catch up on, and I'd love to craft some armor requiring 9 traits to learn, but all 3 slots are filled with 12+ day researches going on.

    Pay to win? Hardly.
