Inb4 another mega-s**tstorm from people who had to wait the full time for those researched traits.

Because these are definitely going into crownstore.

    Siiiiiiiiiggggghhhhhh

Not to mention there is no point in getting those for vouchers unless you're a masochist. Anyone with access vouchers is already an acomplished crafter.

    Edited for further explanation.

    Nice.

It's good to see they are adding a way to earn them in game, instead of just leaving them crown store items.

Huh. Wonder how much those'll cost.

(Hmm, reduce the timer by a day, once a day. So you could blow 15 of them to make a 30-day research take half the time. And only one item research at a time, so becoming a full-9-trait crafter still is a massive time sink, just a bit smaller with a lot of vouchers spent.)

If they sell for Vouchers, there's a chicken and egg problem going on. If you have nothing researched, your odds of getting a Master Writ are dismal.

If you have enough vouchers to waste them here, clearly you're just impatient to get Nirnhoned researched on your 11th Grandmaster 9-trait-in-everything crafter.

So, that means you can shave a 30 day research slate down to... 16 days? 20? Something like that.

Bought from the master writ merchant (so presumably it requires writ vouchers to buy - in other words it's likely that only experienced crafters doing lots of max-level writs will be able to buy them), only reduced research time by 1 day, has a 20 hour cooldown.

Seems like it's something that speeds up research time, but there are controls in place that keep it from making that much of a difference. I'm reserving judgment until I know exactly how they work (things like how many vouchers they cost, if they're BOP, if they're also available in the crown store, etc), but these might be a modest enough boost to research times to be OK.

They're adding them because they plan to sell them in Crown Store/Crown Crates as well, and didn't want to be accused of putting stuff in Crown Store that's better than in game.

It's much like what they did with Mythical Ambrosia, really.

Yeah, the intention seems more to make it faster to research 9-traits on alts, rather than reducing the time for new people or people who aren't 9-trait crafters yet.

Yeah. It's a good bet these will be in the CS. Hopefully they won't be BoP so they can be sold for gold.

It's a good thing to keep new players interested.

Try to consider the perspective of someone just joining the game with Morrowind. It can turn a lot of people off when they realize they need to spend 2 years researching all this stuff to catch up.

More like 1 year, but yeah. I mean, the research system probably needed a catch up mechanic for new players coming in. I'm still not 100% this is the right way to do that, but, it is a solution.

Yes, rushed a bit with the 9 traits in case that it would be some good crafted set in Morrowind with 9 traits

if they are BoE, they can be sold in guild stores. which means they are useful to even people with their first crafter.

I am happy with the scrolls beings sold for writ vouchers. It will be nice to be able to resell them to aspiring crafters and/or give them to new guildmates, as well as a use them on my alts.

It would not be not okay for these to go in the Crown Store. Crafting is not a part of the game that is similar to horse training or generic experience gain -- it's a playstyle in itself, with crafters trading time and dedication for the ability to provide unique benefits to themselves and their guildmates. I am glad that new players will be able to get into this profession more quickly by buying writs from more experienced crafters, but tying one's crafting prowess to real-world money through the Crown Store only cheapens the value of everyone's achievements in game. I don't see a real difference between selling these scrolls in the Crown Store and selling "Rakkhat has %10 less HP on Hard Mode" tokens in the Crown Store.

If this is for vouchers, then it's nice.

If this is for crowns, then it's horrible.

If this is for both, I'm still not happy; it will affect the crafting marketplace. I would rather that _everyone_ have to earn their 9-trait bona fides by some legitimate method before undercutting the price of my services.

As long as it keeps the 20hr cooldown, I don't think a C-store version would change much. (since it's still just -1day to one item, once a day)

If there were a c-store version with no cooldown, that'd be a whole different kettle of fishsticks.

Except a new player isn't going to have the master writ vouchers to buy them. I don't think this is for new players at all. More like veteran players who are leveling another alt, or researching on that new warden. I imagine a new player starting at morrowind release will take quite a long time to amass any decent number of vouchers.

Currently I have around 300 vouchers and don't have a desire to buy anything with them. I haven't bought a bunch of attuned tables since between all my guilds all of the hard to get to tables are already there.

I've got ~170 vouchers so far, spent 20 on random furniture patterns. And my main crafter is 4-8 traits (mostly 5-6). So depending on how much these cost, I could see using some to speed up research on a trait that I need for a big master writ project (for ex).

Or just skipping them, if they cost a 20+ vouchers each.
