Battle Res'ing Discussion

So lately I've thought to myself that there needs to be a cool down on battle resurrections. I feel like it could improve the game play and limit the actions in a specific zerg v zerg scenario that could clutter the server and cause performance issues. It would also help smaller groups vs larger groups in the 30 day campaigns.

My vision is once you are killed and resurrected the following resurrection should have a 1 - 3 minute cool down. So essentially you will get 1 resurrection without penalty but if you die again you must wait to be resurrected. You can however respawn at a keep, outpost, forward camp, or home base.

Should add this is for PVP and could be implemented in battle spirit so it does not affect PVE.

This is punishing the small scale pvp players most of all who usually are far away from home keeps. Camps already have cooldowns so I am not a fan of your idea.

I don't pvp, so I'm not sure if this would affect people in PVE dungeons, who need to battle-res people usually many times within a single boss fight. I don't necessarily see it as a problem if it wouldn't be connected to the battle res'ing in a dungeon, but without seeing the code, I'm not sure how difficult it would be to untwist the two. The unfortunate thing I've seen in this game is that it is often impossible to balance things for one side of the game (pvp or pve) without severely affecting the other. and a lot of that is due to the fact that the same code is used for all, only having a different effect depending on how you're playing.

A change to Battle ressurection would be good.

    How about no?

I am rather glad ESO is not wasting everyones time with having to wait on asinine cooldowns. If I want that, I'll go and play world of warcraft.

While I understand where you're coming from I think the last thing Cyrodiil needs is more waiting around. It's bad enough as it is at time with the long rides, loading screens etc.

as a Templar healer that runs kagrenac's hope for faster rez speed, I sacrifice a lot of very precious survivability for this extra utility. I'm much easier to burst down than if I ran a set like like Reactive, etc.

The key to stopping rezzers is situational awareness.

Keeping caltrops on clusters of bodies, reserving a small portion of your resource pool for a hard CC or interrupt, spam meatbags into piles of players and bodies, prioritizing targets in a crowd via recognition of class and/or weapon abilities, and so on.

Even a single person in a crowd of 20+ can make a tremendous difference by keeping their eyes peeled for rezzers and reacting quickly to stop or eliminate them.

Strategy and smart play > mindless zerg.
