Unable to log on. I noticed announcements says "Could not retrieve announcements".

    I'm getting Error 200 or I can successfully login but have constant lag spikes with 5k+ pings.

    Had an error, but after quitting the launcher and Steam then restarting everything, I was able to log in. Probably another laggy day though...

    I still can't log on to PC NA--- since last night

    I can however log on to PC EU just fine

    I have tried everything I can think of to get PC NA to come up. I have rebooted and repaired.

    Oh and I don't run the ESO client through Steam because I didn't buy it on steam

    I wouldn't think so because there are a lot of other people that can log on just fine but I'm not all that technical.

    Anyone help clarify for us??

    its not a DDoS because several of my guildies are able to log in. Im wondering if this has anything to do with the new Windows 10 big update

    But why can I log on to PC EU then??

    folks it is a longstanding server problem. ZOS is aware of it. There are no "workarounds" or fixes. Just keep trying to log in and you should be able to eventually (frustrating I know). It is luck of the draw logging in when this happens.

    If you're getting error 200 or 201, try this: (From a ZOS type)


    Close both the game and the launcher
    Open the game installation directory
    Open the folder named "Launcher"
    Inside the "Launcher" folder, there is a folder named "ProgramData"
    Rename the "ProgramData" folder to "ProgramDataBackup"
    Open the launcher and download update
    Click "Play"

    I can log in to the character screen, but when I choose a character, it just stays on the "LOGGING IN - Requesting character load..." popup forever.

    Heh. Thanks. I'm assuming it's where the game's loading screen receives it's information and having it open in a browser bypasses the loading screen gremlins and let's it make contact with the announcements link. *shrug*

    Using a VPN does seem to be a workaround for many. Google Betternet, it's free, unlimited, no registration. (Increases lag, so not ideal.) I don't think it's the luck of the draw for everyone.

    I'm repeating myself from other posts, but we should keep posting while there's an issue to keep this in front of Zeos. Last time they said they fixed the problem when they didn't for many of us and then seemingly ignored it for a couple of days.
