Enjoying no special events

I am enjoying myself so much more now that the special events are over. I am a bit too compulsive during those events. I am grateful for the many motif pages, mats, and recipes from 50-100 dailies/day during the anniversary and all the TG DLC motif pages from that event, as we as for all that double XP. But I am having a lot more fun right now replaying DB with my main (I finished the main story with a NB initially) and finishing off all the quests/achievements including the Litany of Blood (which is time consuming but fun). After that, I will probably return to Orsinium to work through achievements on my main. Hew's Bane after that.

Except for Jester's Festival, I've enjoyed all the events. But it's nice to take a break from them--if, for no other reason, that that they don't feel special when they're too frequent.

I wouldn't say that I haven't enjoyed the events. I have. I just enjoy them a lot less than what I do when the game isn't pushing me to repeat content for big rewards. I can't resist those motifs. Too tasty. Just doesn't feel like playing a game when I am rushing through writs on 12 characters and speed running quests in Bruma. I feel pressure to maximize my dailies in the limited time I have daily to play.

I kinda hate double xp. It makes me feel guilty about enjoying the game instead of maximizing xp.

I didn't feel too pressured to do stuff for the jubilee. I did my crafting writs on my alts every day, but I feel like I should do that anyway to help them level while on the back burner. Other than that, it was all gravy on top of things I was already doing. I tried to do more stuff I don't necessarily do, like pledges, (I've got like 12 keys and no idea what to do with them so I just kinda stopped). But I didn't let it stress me out or keep me from doing other stuff.

Jester's Fest though, ech. I was spending whole days deleting/ rolling new alts as much as possible just to try for those purple recipes and I still never got the one I needed for the achievement.

I will say that I miss the cake a bit. I came up 2 levels shy on an alt.

I usually bust out the fun part of the events on the first or second day, then grind out the achievements on my two main characters.

I then go on my merry way.

    Geez. You were really unlucky.
