Did ZOS mess up my magika sorc ?

So,to start with I never really read the patch notes, I only check on the new features added to the game.Browsing though the forums and watching youtube videos, I can see that there is alot of people mad at the devs.Is this something I should be concerned about, did they destory my magika sorc build and what exactly did get nerfed ?

So sorcerer was already considered the most OP class in eso and it had almost no changes. Other classes (especially NB that is considered the worst class in general) got insanely nerfed.No, luckily we didn't have many changes...every other class was destroyed though

Your current mag sorc may or may not be as good as it is now after these changes.
it depends on what you do with it and how you do it and whether or not you change.
Same with every class, race, weapon, guild whatever.
the biggest hit will seem to be in sustain- right now its easy to run maxdam everything and not really have to worry about sustain much at all.
they seem to be making maxdam and sustain back to being a trade off... so that being "alldam" focused means doing high damage for a while then tiring out and having a recovery period. good for some content bad for others. On the other hand you can change and focus on sustain and be able to maintain a more consistent but lowered dps with sustain being not that big.
So, for instance, burst type builds they wont be impacted much by this sustain thing. Similarly sorc pet builds with a lot of heavy staff use wont be all that impacted by the sustain thing. On the other hand julianos-BSW, grothdar hammertime blast blast frags blast builds will likely see a need to swap some stuff around or find themselves having to spend actions on refreshing and recovery against bigger boss fights.

The reason is simple. Sorcerer is the only class in eso that can go full DPS build and still be a tank with the mobility of a sprinting mount (Haunting Curse, Conjured Ward, Streak spam). Other classes have to sacrifice something in order to be more tanky / have more dmg.1 -

In PvP the balance has gotten better
But with morrowind they targeted gankers and endless sustainability. So the balance will be relatively nice PvP wise
What MOST people are referring to is the massive advantage in DPS that sorcs have. Even now Sorcs are almost exclusively the only vet trial dpsers. With morrowind now Mag Dk's will not be able to pull enough dmg to be relevant1 -

And if you play a Dragonknight, a Templar, or a Nightblade, this is exactly how you feel. All three of those classes are getting brutally killed in Morrowind. Sorcerers are already on top, and they are the only class who isn't getting additional nerfs. ✭The way some of the people are reacting would make you think the cost reduction and regen nerfs were for every class except Sorcs. Sorc sustain sucks now without support from healers. It'll be worse after the patch.

I actually play all 4 classes, including stamblade, mag sorc is just my favorite. I'm pissed with this patch.0 -

The CP changes aren't the reason people complain. Ist's the fact that all other classes got gutted. Templar has no role besides 2nd healer anymore, they heavily nerfed pve stam dk ans Nightblade got even worse.

✭✭✭✭✭There were no direct nerfs to Mag Sorc, but the sustain nerfs will hit Mag Sorcs very hard, especially in performing PvE DPS rotations due to the high cost of their DoTs.
Also expect nerfs to come in future updates to the Morrowind patch on PTS.
All I hope for is that stop letting Pirate Skeleton become so OP for Mag Sorcs in PvP. Bad balance.0 -
