No - I can adjust to changes an basically play anything.
I just tweak my one build and make it work the best I can. Usually I find some way to do it each patch!

Yes - my build is highly optimized to the current meta and if ZOS changes it I woin't be able to handle it.
Yes, I won't be able to handle the changes of my build.

So I will have to adjust my build.

Actually I get wrecked even with a perfect build
I'm actually getting worse at the game as time goes by. Stupid RSI.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Same. I can kill people, even in the middle of a zerg. But one slip-up or radiant magelight/detect potion and I can just take my hands of the keyboard as I will die anyway.

I never tried other classes though so I might just suck (tot totally unrealistic) or it's only because I play light armored magicka melee nightblade.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Who said I was good? Anyway, my build's bad enough that I have plenty of headroom to improve it and remain just as ineffective, regardless of any nerfs. So in a way, nerfs are actually a buff for me! It's those nasty buffs that cause problems - setting a higher standard to live up to and all. :p

Yes - I only want to play one thing and if that gets nerfed I'm screwed.
Well with my 300 ping and my game freezing if multiple enemies show up on screen... 1 shooting people from stealth was all I could do in PVP :'(.

Also with 300 ping I basically double tap all my abilities so rip resources.

Builds can't make anyone good. You can crush someone running a meta build who has no skill. A meta build can only give you an edge over people who don't have any skill and aren't wearing a meta setup.

Have been told exactly the title of thread. I'm only good because the build that I have been running for a year on a toon that I created on release day was only good because of how meta it is... meh

Someone's got to be honest here.

This game gives you very little battle mechanics to work with. Aim, timing, mind tricks, spacing... This is all so watered-down in this game it barely affects your performance.

If ZOS nerf... Frags or Whip or just any cornerstone skills/gear, you won't recover. Or how did MagDKs perform between Imp City and Thieves Guild? Why are stamblades crying these days and why are templars upset about PTS? When's the last time a decisive inferno staff delivered satisfying damage results?

This game has simplified combat mechanics and every change to numbers will greatly effect players. Good players adapt in that they seek out new gear and skills to avoid the brunt of nerfs. That is the whole secret.
