Are Changes going to make Bad players Better and Good players Less Good?

Tanks relied heavily on shards will he challenged to find other way to manage their resources.

Actually, most stam based tanks will come out about the same as they are now, maybe a bit better, when it comes to shards. Its only high stam characters that will see a decrease in the amount of stam that shards gives them. IE: mostly stam DPS.

As a health tank, im coming out WAY ahead, as shards will now give me even MORE stamina than it currently does

As a health tank how many times have you cleared vMA?

The reliability of shards granting the resource you want is greatly reduced where before it was guaranteed. If you ge the wrong reasons s your locked out from shards and orbs since they share the same CD now.

So yes, tanks that relied on shards will be more challenged unless they never use magika to ensure that's the lower stat.

It's what it really seems aimed to do to me anyways. I'm ok with it, cause I need all the help I can get.

I also don't even get why anyone is complaining about the Warden. Isn't everyone planning on making one anyways?

Some bad habits will become even more bad - spamming clickety clickety a big bang attack will burn your resource quicker and not work as good.

But a non-elite moderate pace rotation thru a variety of things including a smattering of heavies will be within the grasp of most every player. With sustain options able to earn their keep vs higher price damage options, moderate players will be able to do fine.

At the top end, the need to sustain could lead to lowering the top end performance and bring the ceiling down a bit closer to the floor and the desk.

The front loaded champ pts in the notes will make the diff between 150 and 300 and then 300 and 600 much less than it is now so that will also possibly bring the ceiling closer to the floor and the desk.

So if you look at it as good (ceiling), bad (floor) and average (desk) ceiling outght to lower, desk should stay the same (or rise or not drop as much) and floor will likely be worse cuz its bad habits will be more painful.

Gearing for resource regen means you are not gearing for damage, sure you can gear up to 2,500 regen. but dps will greatly decrease, healers already do this..

No these changes will make bad players worse and won't effect good players if your already good at the game u probably wont even notice the difference.put simply less sustain means less resources means lower dps meaning longer fights there's will be no room too carry bad players in your group and people will probably be more hesitant to play with new people.

I know that my more casual-oriented guild has always had players complaining that the game had inadequate sustain. More elite players may have resources for days, but players who don't put in that amount of effort find resources a real chore already.

So yeah, the "bads" that people like to look down their noses at but who probably contribute a majority of the revenue of this game are going to get a whole lot "worse."

If your a good player you will still be a good player, if your a bad player you might have a better chance to improve, this is a balance factor to the game that gives everyone a chance to experience the game and have a good time, min maxers will still min max, mmo's are not just for the elite, they need more support for the average player that's where the money and the majority of the players.

I kind of hate all these labels for players, how about were all just gamers some play a little harder that others, in the end we all want to have fun and enjoy the game no matter how we play.

and that would be Great IF everyone gets the same weapons and skills and traits and stuff. but we dont, and that imo is allot of the problem.

It will lessen the power creep from champion points while still keeping champion points. It will increase diversity to game play as we have more healers, lesser used sustain options, and less people putting 100 points into one champion point star.

So no the changes are for the better.

The gap between good and bad players will be widened, which is a good thing as at least player skill will come back into play. That is unless the bad player is on a warden and the good player is not.

Which is exactly opposite of zos stated goals.

All seems like bs to me though. I wasn't to big on the band wagon of saying zos would make warden strong for sales until I seen the patch notes and compared them to the wardens descriptions.

I really just hope they don't make the gap between warden and the rest to big. I plan on making a warden also but I don't plan on playing it exclusively. In most games I play I try each class or type of character to see which I like best, eso is no different in that regard.

If Cyrodiil isn't deserted I may not get Morrowind, I won't play Warden out of spite as it currently is.

They will make the bad players worse and the good players less good.

    This right here.

You'll have a portion of good players that also find a niche build that still enables them to do very well, but for the most part changes like this hurt the common player more than the ones they are aimed at.

No. That's just a popular narrative. Adjusting will require compromises and greater efficiency.

2.3-2.7 were the floor raising, ceiling lowering patches. 3.0.0 is an attempt to better balance those changes as they trivialized content.
