Question about physical eso edition v digital edition?

If I originally purchased the physical edition of eso, and plan on buying the digital edition of morrowind will the original physical edition disk still be required to play the game (on xbox 1)????

To add to that what if my physical edition disk becomes damaged, and unreadable How would I be able to play the game on xbox1, and is there a way to change my account to where I would no longer need the disk to play??

Digital upgrade works even if yoi have physical base game. If your disc becomes damaged you'll probably have to buy the game again, but you can probably buy the same eddition that your original disc was, either digitally or physically, although I'm not 100% sure as I've never done it.

So there is no way to change a PE to a digital then????

The best way to do it would be to wait for the digital edition to go on sale & pick it up at 50-60% off.

During the Black Friday sale last year it was pretty cheap.

If it's worth $10-$20 to you to not have to change discs, just hold out for a sale.

But without spending cash to buy the digital copy, there's no way to change physical to digital that I'm aware of.
