Any tips to be the best thief possible?

Hi all,

I wanted to make a thief alt character and I was needing some tips. I already have the thieves guild dlc if that helps. I am wondering if I have to be a khajit to do this because they have a bonus for stealth. Is it possible for a non-khaijit to get the same stealth level? My main goal in this is to get enough cash to max out inventory on all my characters and to start buying those super rare motifs. Since the guards are invincible what are the best ways to deal with them or to get away from them.

I think Khajiit all the way for mega thief but bosmer seem pretty good too. As far as being the best thief stats wise all I've read seems to point to khajiit being better. Get thieving and doing thieves guild quests asap and be selling and laundering at the thieves guild hideouts and put as many skill points into the thieves guild skill tree as possible.

Of course the nightblade skill 'shadow cloak' in the shadow tree is handy for getting away and doing many thieves guild and dark brotherhood quests.

Getting away from guards invlolves lots of high speed running, breaking free and ducking behind things using stealth to lose them until they think you are gone.

Of course stealing more expensive things helps a lot if you can. The repeatable thieves guild quest on the board inside the thieves guild at hews bane that sends you off pickpocketing and breaking into safes is good for earning cash.

I've got a Bosmer, and he's ace. Rolled him specifically for TG, but also to do all the evil stuff my main 'wouldnt'

Level Legerdemain fast. Steal all the things, fence all the things - daily. Expand how much you can fence ASAP.

Find a town with master lockboxes and loop de loop to get them all. It's fun.

Look for the sets that remove the sneak speed penalty etc and make a combo.

I use 5pc Night Mothers Embrace + 5pc Night's Silence. The former for reduced detection + damage (when needed), the latter for the movement speed in stealth (critical for easy daily heists and sacraments).

Then just invest in your Legerdmain, Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood skills that affect stealth, detection, or anything else related to thieving.

Best thief would be Khajiit magika NB, for passive bonuses. I like 3 pieces of Night Terror for stealth reduction and one of the 5 piece sets that ignores speed reduction in stealth. Combined with NB shadow skills, you can run and hide almost everywhere.

Level Legerdemain, TG and DB skill lines for passives. Clemency is good when you get caught inside by guards. Maxed Haggling is extra 10% profit. If you do the dailies and quests, you should have a lot of leniency pages to remove heat and bounty...use them. The heat and bounty reduction passives are also worth maxing. I sold only green and higher items, and fenced the whites, to increase profit.
