I could back this post up with "FACTS" or "MATH" or "KNOWLEDGE" but everyone knows that sharpened trait on weapons is just the absolute best bang for your buck, regardless of content. It's to a point where you're better off using a non-set sharpened weapon for DPS compared to incorporating a non-sharpened set weapon. So we've established that you must have sharpened trait on your weapons, right? Now let's go about farming our sharpened weapons and holy *** on a shingle I've been farming sharpened Seventh Legion dagger for many many hours now and not only do I not have a sharpened dagger, I don't have ANY sharpened ANYTHING. I'm literally looking at 20+ hours and possibly many many more than that of farming world bosses over and over or farming bosses in the group delve place. It's so mind numbingly boring to do this content and I have to do it for way too long because ZOS decided that only 1 of 12 weapon traits would be worthwhile. So balance sharpened you game developers you because it's too powerful and you've forced me to farm my life away instead of enjoying the game.

It's not broken. It's just best for damage dealers. The same way other traits are best for other roles. If sharpened was the best trait for tanks, healers, AND damage dealers, then yes it would be broken. No matter what, there's always going to a bis...

My argument to that is that it's too BIS for damage dealers and also damage dealers are about 90% of the game. If sharpened was 2% more dps than precise that would be fine but it's like 6-7% more. Too large of a difference compared to what other gear upgrades give you.

What kind of aggravates me is at the same time they nerfed nirnhoned they added it to vma weapons loot table. Just to rub it in I have gotten nearly every weapon in nirnhoned.

I agree the traits need some work. But what I don't want to see is sharpened get nerfed into the ground and requiring all the people who have already went through the grinding to have to do it again. Imo, if they go trying to change sharpened that is exactly what would happen.

If they could bring the other traits in line with sharpened that would be great, but i am doubtful that it's what would happen. We would more than likely end up at the same place with another trait, only prolonging the grind.

Sharpened, Training and Defending are in a good spot, the other traits just need a bit of a buff.

For weapons I would suggest to increase the effect of Powered, Charged, Infused, Nirnhoned, Precise, Decisive - make all of these a bit stronger and they will become quite viable options for many builds.

As for armor traits, I'd say Training, Impen, Divines and Sturdy are good currently. I would suggest to increase the effect of Reinforced, Nirnhoned and Infused armor traits, and for Well-fitted I'd add cost reduction for break free in addition to reducing cost of roll dodge and sprinting.

That would make it a lot more fun to research and come up with build ideas, as you would be making more interesting choices for your weapon and armor traits. It's a bit boring when the choices are too easy.

Prosperous might be best simply removed from the game and all existing Prosperous items changed to training trait. (Anyone out there really use prosperous for grinding instead of training?)

Well fitted is not bad, neither is reinforced at least on shields anyway.

Infused is a bit bad nowdays but people do use it on builds that stack high stats.

Defending - Great for tank for offbar.
Decisive - Great for offbar also for high-ult gen builds.
Charged - Great for healers who wields lightning blockade.
Precise - Great trait when resistance reduction is high enough.
Infused - Great trait for tanks mainbar.
Nirnhorned - Great trait for VMA, and outdoor where several bosses and mobs has only 12k armour. It increases also Vigor viability, and has few PvP usages.
    Powered - Great for healers.
    Training - Great for exping.

Every trait is good and viable, just has different role.

I'd rather spend a few hours going around guild traders and spend >50k or more to buy the last piece of a set. You can literally kill 400+ public dungeon bosses in Bankorai and still not get a sharpened 1H in the set you want.

I would argue killing the enemy (sharpened) is the best way to increase Vigor viability ;)

Sharpened weapons for desirable sets are going for like 200k +

The solution is quite simple: Lower the necessity for the 'Sharpened' trait or lower the drop rates for it.

Don't you just love how their balance patch for traits actually unbalanced them and gave us less options than before? I do, I absolutely LOVE it!!!!!!!

Seriously though, something needs to be done, but nerfing it isn't the answer.... completely doing away with these traits is..... allowing us master crafters to change traits would be good..... honestly a lot of things would be better, but we have a long time to wait before they finally realize their system is flawed, oh wait.... nevermind they already know that.... just don't care enough to change it and they think this endless grind is keeping people playing.... when in actuality, it causes more people to get bored and burnt out on the game, thus leaving....

I have personally spent uncountable hours trying to farm my BiS items and mostly have come up short....

Instead of nerfing the rest they just need to buff precise, nirnhoned.

So the three are more on par, no need for more nerfs guys.

Nirnhooned is no way in comparison with Sharpened!

Precise can do better in groups situationally!

DPS trait should align with each other, not 99% of DPS should be running single triat!
