Anniversary Event: PVE

Cyrodil is a great place to complete dailies for this anniversary event. I have been there trying to grind some of these dailies out, and I have to say I am impressed with the sportsmanship of the players in there. In Cheydinhal especially I have stood next to other players from enemy factions, and we completed the quests without anyone with interfering with each other.

I've seen the opposite though in Bruma, where a group of six of an enemy faction set up siege in the chapel, to farm PVE'rs. I got killed by them at first not expecting them, then watched to see if they'd leave. Nope. They set up shop there, and their intention was obviously to farm PVE'rs that are participating in the anniversary event. I went in with a buddy and cleared them out.

With the event still going on, anyone else have experience with PVE'ing in Cyrodil?

Cheydinhal is an out of the way area that where you aren't likely to see much traffic. While Bruma is in the middle of a warzone. Even without an event driving people to it, it regularly flips as groups desiring a closer respawn point to dragonclaw or bleaker's.

If I had to pick an order for your likelihood to find PvP in a given town it would look something like this:
    1. Bruma
    2. Cropsford
    3. Vlastarus
    4. Cheydinhal
    5. Chorrol

That said, this past weekend my guild did a whole cycle of all the cyrodiil claimable towns PvPing and completing the quests as we went. I think it would get pretty boring if we did it every night, but it was a nice change of pace.

    You should feel bad. :)

I've had problems at both Cropsford and Vlastarus. I stayed awake to play at a time when I really didn't enjoy it as much as I would otherwise, just because the DC owned Cropsford and I felt (correctly) I'd be free of griefers.

This morning I had to fight tooth and nail to complete quests in Cropsford. It's really annoying that the quest givers are locked up on that central flag. If spotted, I cannot go through the door - If spotted, I cannot turn in the quest to orc lady. Really annoying layout of the city - didn't help that 7-12 enemy players were doing quests there. I had to kill a few for them to leave me alone, but when they got together, they'd attack me with confidence in numbers.

Ugh. Please do not do this on TF. Show some respect for those looking for balanced (as possible) PVP teams.

Im honestly a little baffled by the amount of people who expect to be able to pve in peace in a flagged pvp zone. you do realize those pve quests were purposely put in cyrodiil to push pvp, right? it didnt work out as zos planned but nonetheless, those towns were to draw pvp in, NOT create safe havens for pvers.

Im not saying this because i totally kill all enemy players on sight, i have the same expectation for myself. treat others the way you wish to be treated. but then again, i go into cyrodiil prepared to pvp

Everyone goes in prepared for PVP. I'm pretty defensive, but if someone is obviously doing quests and shows no interest in attacking then I let them be so they can complete their quests. The main point is that it's really pathetic that some players will set up farms on PVE'rs that are obviously there to do just quests. Really shows how bad they are since they lack the confidence to fight real PVP'rs.

My guy has recycle sets on, but I can definitely PVP so when someone does attack, I'll usually be able to kill them easy enough. But I hate to bring in friends for when I'm just doing PVE crap - just one member of my guild and myself wiped that group of six that set up a siege farm. I'd much rather get these quests done though so I can continue PVP'ing with my guild - and I'll let other complete theirs so they're not wasting their time either.

Just because there's extra incentive to complete the quests doesn't mean you should have a free pass from pvp for the week.

That just means theres extra incentive to hold those towns. If you want them, come and get them, but be prepared to fight for it.

This is exactly what a lot of forum posters have been asking for, extra ways to play the map small scale and find some fights.

I had the opposite experience. In Bruma, you can talk to the quest givers without having to clear npcs around a flag. I was on a pve toon and saw experienced players of enemy factions that could easily have wiped all the pve'ers and didn't. (Until they decided to gang up on them, and repeatedly got slaughtered while I proceeded to finish all the quests unmolested other than a little crossfire.)

At other towns, it was about 50/50 peace versus war. Usually it was the other pve'ers doing dailies that would attack me even if I tried to ignore them.

I don't attack people obviously questing or who are low level or very low AR rank when they are not near a war zone or objective. What's the fun in fighting them? While people shouldn't expect not to encounter pvp in a pvp zone, especially the capturable towns, there are a handful of people getting their jollies ganking noobies at quest hubs. I can't improve on @WhitePawPrints adjective: pathetic.
