Ancestor Silk Writs

I've never heard of anyone else having this problem

When I had a craglorn writ farm going over like 8 characters, I can tell you that Ancestor gear dropped FAR more frequently that any other armor pieces. I used to farm a certain dungeon for trash gear to deconn on my alts in order to level up crafting. Clothier was ALWAYS the first to 50.

2 of the 3 top tier clothier writs require you to craft light armor pieces, only 1 of 3 needs leather mats. Clothier surveys will lead you to 4 special ancestor silk nodes and 2 leather boxes so it should even out.

However, I often run out of Ancestor Silk, too, for some reason ^^

Yes I skip the clothier writs when they use ancestor silk

I thought I was the only one that was such a cheapskate!

I have a couple thousand silk since i only craft for myself and am constant picking up silk node and deconning. Could probably sell a few stacks for good gold if this is a problem for people

I have more ancestor silk than any other material except alkahest, so no I'm not skipping clothing wirts on days where it requires ancestor silks. I do however have a problem getting enough jute for my low level writs these days.

Currently sitting at around 146 Ancestor silk OP so I know the pain.

12 chars all 50 in each craft.

So the problem is prob that the hirelings are arachnophobic, I just started picking up some silk again to resupply but might just buy it tonight or tomorrow night.

One great thing about the Anniversary event is that I'm running writs on all characters, even those with underleveled crafting. Those Flax and Fell Leather writs are dropping surveys that are headed straight into the inventories of my maxed crafters.

I do the same, overflowing with surveys and the low level writs tend have boxes with iron and flax to compensate for items used. Might well continue to do equipment writs on at least the active characters as part of horse feeding.

No, even though it is rare, I never skip the clothier writ

I don't think is a server problem but an usage problem. The main inssue with clothier writs is that 2/3 times they ask for ancestor silk and 1/3 for rubedo leather although the materials are at least equally abundant, or leather is slightly more abundant. I always end up with a lot of extra rubedo leather from just killing stuff as I do dungeons and refining the scraps. As a result the price of ancestor silk is roughly 2.5-3x the price of the other CP150-160 materials. For example on EU-PC it's about 30 gold, compared to rubedite, rubedo leather and ruby ash which are 8-12 gold. I think they should adjust the rate of writs to be equal between medium and light armor so rubedo leather and ancestor silk are asked in the same quantity over time.

Simply not true. Julianos for example is still a viable option and in some cases TBS. Not everyone goes "meta" crazy. For my build, I think Julia outperforms BSW. Not done trails so can't comment on Moondancer. I suspect many other people haven't got moondancer either. Those doing trials make up a very small percentage of the player population. Shouldn't believe all the stuff the vocal minority around here spout. Otherwise you'd be forgiven for thinking everyone is meta daft.
