What does Soulshine Armor actually do ?

Came across this set in reapers march the other day. Says something about adding 490 odd spell damage to channel abilities and something about cast times.
Can someone break it down and give me a practical example of what that means? I play a Templar and wondering if the set would be useful to me.

✭✭✭Yes it's a nice set for Templars. It buffs your Sweeps, Jesus Beam, Dark Flare and if you use it Soul Strike (I found Soul Strike was lackluster tbh). It only comes in healthy jewelry and heavy armor so it's works for PvP, I wouldn't use it in PvE.BawKinTackWarDs PS4/NA1 -
