I wouldn't read into it that much.

I'd imagine they've realised they need a sale soon due to the growing forums mobs and with a week of new players trying the game why not give them the view of getting a good deal on Crowns now and they should buy some in their trial week.

The Island will be interesting but I can't see them going for a price more than the cave. I would imagine the "limited time" will be the cash grab side of it and the price to be more standard.

I am sure they'll prove me wrong and I will be back in a couple of weeks to table flip.

I don't see how the closed PTS is dodgy. They've explained their reasons and it's pretty sound reasoning, they don't want guides and videos for the entire update posted everywhere on the internet. An enforced NDA and smaller pool of testers will be the only way to make sure that's the case.

Also they can choose people to actually test rather than use the new PTS release to find bugs to exploit or mess about for personal gains.

They're giving back to those who have given them help in the past, I can respect that.

I doubt that, even if it's half the price a lot of people will be buying crowns so they will make far more sales. I only know 2 people in game that bought Earthtear Cavern.

Closed PTS is intentional so there's no leaks/heavy play time that could effect pre orders and sales of the expansion in general, common practice in MMO's.

Yes/no. Knowing they have some very controversial ideas regarding balancing, and their history of pushing hidden nerfs/bugs into an update the closed pts is very ominous. I'm prepared to tableflip and take my cash to bf1.

I got my fingers crossed tho.

Only the Morrwind expansion parts of the pts are closed the base game patch will still be on the pts for everyone else.
