Ok zos, I've been experiencing a strange big lately and it's really starting to get on my nerves. This almost exclusively happens on my Templar healer, though sometimes on my nb tank as well.

Here's the deal: I'm healing a dungeon group. We're doing trash or a boss fight or whatever, and I try to use abilities like ritual of retribution, channeled focus, etc. On my nb it's been abilities like siphoning attacks and mirage. These are self buffs or ground effects, not attacks.

When trying to use these abilities, I get the message in the top right of the screen saying "target is immune" and the ability will fail to cast. Usually I'll have to spam the ability 3 or 4 times before it actually works.

Lag is already a problem in dungeons lately, so combined with this glitch it can take several seconds just to get ritual or focus down for major mending and then several more to get a heal cast, especially if I'm having to swap bars (outside of dungeons is fine, but in dungeons bar swap is soooo damn laggy, nearly a two second delay).

Obviously this becomes a severe problem during boss fights rather than just the incredible inconvenience it is on trash pulls.

Why am I getting a target is immune prompt when I'm trying to use buffs and area abilities?

Ritual of Retribution snares enemies and some enemies are immune to snares but that shouldn't prevent the skill from being cast. Are you sure it wasn't casting? Sometimes you'll cast an ability and it just won't show the effect. If it truly isn't casting then I'm sure it's due to lag and has nothing to do with NPC's CC immunity.

Just like DK's talons. If the mob is immune to roots it'll still cast and the mob will still get the damage you just won't see the talons.

Exactly this, don't worry, you are probably doing a great job. It's not your job to attack anyway so just focus on the health bars. Unfortunately you would get this message on both morphs...

Yea i use it as an aoe heal and to get major mending, kinda mandatory to keep ritual down.
