Interesting bot train in Silsailen in Auridon - PC/NA

I've been seeing the same 3 person bot train in Silsailen in Auridon for a while now. It is an obvious bot train. They follow the EXACT same route down to each step. They do things a player wouldn't. After they complete a circle, they always take two steps onto the bridge, stop for a second, then turn around. It was probably programmed by one person and applied to three accounts, and the person mistakenly went onto the bridge looking for a target when they programmed it. I would run ahead of them and attack their targets. If I fought near the spawn point, they would join in. If I led the target a few feet away, they would go stand on the spawn point for a couple seconds, then go to the next. If I quickly cleared several ahead of them, they go to the spawn point, stop, then go to the next, stop and go to the next. I'd make a video, but I've submitted videos before, only to see the exact same bots doing the exact same thing in other areas. PC/NA by the way. I'll probably submit a report, but don't expect anything to actually be done. I reported the same bot standing in one spot in Wrothgar for over 9 months. Must have reported that one at least 50 times before giving up.

Sadly our reports don't seem to be seen/dealt with in a timely manor.

I wish we (and ZOS) could figure out why it takes so long from report to ban, but yeah... this is how it is.

The bot in Wrothgar gained over 300 CP since I first saw it, which makes me wonder how many mats it picked up.

Er, you don't gain CP by harvesting so what is the point of your comment?

They killed the same ogre over and over, picked up the loot.

Can ppl quit posting bots and not say what platform and server you are on. Also a landmark would be good i.e. West of Skyreach wayshrine. There would be no way for Devs to know what you are referencing.

I did say I was PC/NA in the OP. And Silsailen in Auridon is a small area.

Sorry to not be clear... in the title. There are at least 6 Auridons and at least 12 active bot posts going right now.

Edited the title. Curious to see how many other players have seen this train. The fact that there are so many bot threads going indicates how bad it is getting. Not as bad as PC release (good luck finishing a quest when 20 bots zap the boss immediately), but really noticeable.

Thank you I have gotten about 75 plus bots removed as I know someone I can e-mail. I will get on when I get home from work.

There's a bot train at Vivec's Antlers almost 24/7 pulling all the dreugh. It's all sorcs with lightning form racing around and pulling them all to one central area to AoE them down. And I mean 24/7, I've seen some of the same ones every time, all times of the day, for weeks now. I've screen shotted it with time stamps a few times, but I doubt it'll do much good. Oh well.

It doesn't prevent me from completing the quests there though, I even took advantage of it the other night when I desperately needed a few more peices of leather for my crafting writs. I just dropped a weak AoE on the one spot where the bots pull all the Dreugh and bing bang bosh, Leather Pants. Someone probably paid money for that extremely obvious bot that will get them banned eventually (maybe 6 months from now, but they always get caught eventually) and all I had to do was walk by and press '2' once to profit off their choice. I can't even be mad about that.

As to why it takes so long to report bots? They probably have a very small portion of staff dedicated to reviewing bot reports by hand to confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's not just a bad player, as automated bans will do FAR more damage than botters ever could.

Imagine you usually play 2 hours a day, but play for 8 on your day off and really get your AP grind on, only to then get auto-flagged for botting and banned. It's happened to me before, twice. Even worse, imagine if a group of players decided to all report an individual they dislike as a bot and it auto-flagged and banned them due to the number od reports, even though they were doing nothing wrong? Other games do use systems like that and they suck. Not only that but if Zeni are already struggling to address bot reports, the ban appeals they'd have to handle from automated bans, legitimate or not, would doubtlessly greatly outnumber the actual bot reports.

Banning doesn't even 'fix' the problem because botters just buy new accounts and do it again. Read some of the slimy bot forums sometimes, you'll see them say they've gone through 9-10 accounts, with large scale 'bot farms' reporting they've had 30 out of 200 running bots banned this banwave, etc. The best method of anti-botting is to de-incentivize it. If they can't turn a reasonable profit they will look for a different crack to ooze through instead.

    @DHale

I have two reports on a 3 person bot train in Drowned Coast Dolmen in Greenshade

    170404-003489
    170404-003478

These bots have been here for more than 6 months, close to a year, all running the same goofy pattern

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I have checked there a couple of times this evening and they are not there. Multiple checks to improve odds of getting into the same Auridon "channel" as they are. Auridon is a busy place with the Chef visiting, so there may be a lot of them.

    They were there earlier today.

I went through the probably useless exercise of making a video of the bot train and sending it to support, although the categories to choose from don't seem to include botting, just exploits. I'd post it here, but then I'd get slammed for naming and shaming while the botters keep going.

You could make another video without naming & shaming. Turn off the UI before recording.

If I am reporting, what is the EXACT place I should be reporting in game or via support from this web page @ZOS_JessicaFolsom ? Meaning what exact menu choices, as I have taken the time to load a program, record a video, upload to YouTube. I want to make sure that they are reported in the correct place so they might actually be looked at. Many people have seen this same bot train of two sorcs and one templar. I spent 30 minutes last night running in front of the train, taking out the targets before they got there, just so I could watch them continually go to the same empty spot, stop for a second, and go to the next. Or I'd draw the target a few feet away and they'd ignore it and continue their route. I'm watching these people (or this one person using multiple accounts) gain CP at an incredible rate, and it makes me wonder why I bother to grind CP or skills at all.

Time to buy a mud ball runebox on NA and visit those bots.

I wonder if mudballing two of the three could get the lead one killed, then mudball one until the second is killed?

It is very frustrating to take the time to record and video, only to see the same bot train continue without penalty. A handful of ingame GMs could put out zone calls for locations and clear the game out quickly across platforms.

With two sorcs running Clannfear and Twilight, and one Templar spamming jabs, they are invulnerable in that area and rack up kills very quickly. They also each have the NPC that will run around with you in this town, so they are effectively a group of 10. This is even worse than the sorc in Wrothgar that sat in one spot, killing the same two ogres in one specific spot for over 9 months, as it takes the entire grind spot away from legitimate players.
