Fillet fish or sell? Which makes more money?

Should I fillet the fish for Perfect Roe or just sell stacks of fish if my goal is to make money. What's the drop rate for Perfect Roe now? With tempers, wax and rosin I had it down to about 1/200, but it's probably changed since.

Its a question of time. Do you want to spend the time to filet them or take the hit on the gold and sell them.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

So you're saying I'll make more money if I fillet the fish and sell the Perfect Roe.

Ask yourself, would you rather pay for a sure thing or pay for a chance? Which is more valuable to you?

I think the drop rate for perfect roe has always been about 1 in a 100 - sometimes you get 2 in 10 and then nothing for 200, other times you can fillet 300 and get none, only to suddenly get 3 or 4 in quick succession.

As someone who has over 1000 unfilleted fish and more than 30 perfect roe - which means I sell neither - I probably should not advise on which you should sell.

Maybe just look at prices, if 200 fish sell for more than 2 perfect roe, then sell the fish. If 200 fish are the same price as 1 perfect roe, fillet them and sell the roe.

if you pull rate is 1:200 then sell the FISH!
1 roe goes for for about 15K
well 200 fish goes for about 30K (but i have sold fish 25 for 6K, which = 48K).

I have been pulling roe at the rate of 4:200, so i do refine and make me the 60K!
but i have sold to friend 4 roe for 40K.

    Good Luck!

I agree, I get more like 2%, more or less. I only have like 5 weeks of emptying 3-4 fishing spots per evening. I can't wait for pile to get 200 fish, but I do wait til it's 100 so I can gauge the rate. It's almost always 2, sometimes 3.

30K for 200 fish? On which server are you playing? On PC EU there is rarely any craft material which is cheaper than fish O_O. 200 fish = 800g.

I think you might be seeing the price of fish after they have been filleted for perfect roe.

Fish that have not been filleted are called by their original name - Salmon, Slaughterfish, Spadetail, Longfin, etc. Once they are filleted they all just become 'fish'.

correct! Salmon, Slaughterfish, Spadetail, Longfin etc. before you put your knife to it. 30K for stack of 200 is the rate am seeing on trader!

    Plus am on XBox.

but you can even sell the stack of 200 fish for 1or2K. in this game everything can be sold for some coin. lemon 200 for 2K! i'll take that all day as my craft bag currently holding about 1.5K of lemon!
