4 Man Loot System Suggestion and Question?

So today my partner and I ran a 4 man Dierforst Keep. We had 1 non-gear caped level in the group which was cool (CP90). He got a piece of loot that scaled to his level as normal however he was not going to use it, and it was a set piece we just happened to be grinding for, so we bought it off the CP90.

Why dose the item not scale to the level of person it is traded to while inside the group content, together in the same group?

The level of the item is decided when it drops. Think of it like the item was born or created as that quality, it cant be changed after the fact.

I understand the frustration but remember that gear trading was a little band-aid to help with the grind, it wasn't meant to be the solution.

Items are still designed to be for the person they drop for and if you're farming for a set your best bet is to take a group of friends all max level and grind together so that you get four chances per boss at the item you want.

This would help alleviate the problem we have at-moment with people kicking sub cp-160s for loot purposes. Specific case, but hey

If they're farming loot they should be stating that in a group or making one in zone if they want a full 4 160 group. If I ever saw this from someone I would refuse to trade all loot with them for being a jerk about it.
