Stam DK

I know magicka builds are on top right now but I really want to play my stamina DK. I'm talking PvE, and my end game is vet dungeons, I don't really do trials. I did make the mistake of picking nord, but he's the guy I made back in first beta and I want him to work, any tips?

best setup ive had with stam dk is:

VO (Vicious ophidian) x5, Night mothers gaze times 4 and 5 (bow + dual wield and 3 armor peices) then Vilidreth.

As you dont really do trials you can go agility with weapon damage glyphs and vilidreth with hundings that could still work.

Though I think best in slot is vilidreth, Two fanged snake and VO. I think. Not entirely sure on that one.

If you do decide to run trials with it though TBS is still a decent starting set provided warhorn is up constantly and as long as you take the thief and shadow mundus.

On top of all of that and general build you'll want to aim for 70% crit. 1 Axe 1 dagger is still best in slot i believe but again I cant be sure im on a mag class since homestead unfortunately in pve and pvp.

    As far as rotation and bars go if i remember right;

Bar 1: Rending Slashes, Venemous Claw, Rapid Strikes ( your execute), Flames of oblivion (for the crit), rearming trap (for the crit damage nothing else) and then either flawless dawnbreaker or rend as your melee bar ultimate.

Bar 2: Poison Inject, Noxious breath, Vigor, endless hail (you can use both volley and razor caltrops but its probably better to just run hail for dungeons) and igneous weapons.

As for rotation ill probably mess this up a bit here its been a while but:

rearming trap (reapply every 6 seconds) > Igneous weapons > endless hail > Noxious Breath > light bow attack > poison inject > Twin Slashes > venomous claw > Rapid Strikes x3 and rinse and repeat. certain dots run off a timer beyond the rotation so reapply when needed and if you wish to get the bleed off the axe then medium weaving it works well but I would try doing between 1 or 2 cycles of the rotation, seemed to work well for me but then not always i do have a tendancy to screw up my own rotation sometimes so, medium weave dual wield wherever you see fit until you find the rythem in your set up where you dont lose dps from doing so.

How you choose to use your ults is really up to you but using standing on a war horn is disgustingly effective still.

EDIT: Turns out Nord racial passives were changed, sorry about the bad info you do indeed have max stam as well which is great, i wont delete what i said that as it can still be used a form of reference and what ive said anyway is just suggestions nothing more :P

Just a quick note though as you dont have max stam passives on nord you could try running hulking drauger jewlery and weapons with hundings to negate the loss of max stam from racial passives. I have never tested it though in pve but it might be a good idea especially considering its very difficult to raise your stam pool compared to mag players. Keep in mind though I would never run that for anything but dungeons.

You do have regen though which is nice, expecially on a dk.

Should bare one thing in mind, the build I put forward at the start is my original build from before homestead, I was managing 30k - 32k Dps a majority of the time, depending on the content however as resistances vary in some areas on some bosses of course also depends if you're pugging or running with a set group of people who actively run buffs and debuffs etc. However with the loss of crit on monster procs dps isnt that high anymore. Stam players have it slightly rough atm.

Lastly, You can actually run double maelstrom daggers should only choose to run 3 piece of something i.e agility HOWEVER you will have to weave your poison dots a lot. I cannot remember how well this worked though, I heard mixed results from some, amazing results from others. I guess there is a middle ground somewhere.

I hope some it or any of it helps remotely and even if you're stressing about racial passives dont worry about it! you can work around it :) not perfectly but its not catastrophic if you're not getting the same output as like a redgaurd or a imperial. Again, some of that info is outdated but if anyone wishes they can feel free to correct me.

Play him and have fun. My Stam DK is a Dunmer.
It's not always the miniscule stat advantages given by the 'PERFECT' racials, but the skill of the player.

Nord isn't bad for stamd DK. I use a wood elf, and it works just fine. In fact, you will not only have the same +6% stamina, but you will also have more HP and a passive 6% reduction to damage. Just learn your rotation (stam DK has a harder one imo so it takes time), and and run some decent gear such as Night Mother's Gaze, or Hunding's Rage and you will be good to go. The Kra'gh monster helm is also really easy to farm, and it's pretty much best in slot for single target for stam DK.

Stamdk is great, don't let anyone telling you otherwise. Follow rotation guides of Alcast or Deltia, and you will do great.

If you cannot get trial and vMA gear, just craft Night Mother's Gaze, wear Kragh/Selene/Veli, 3 pieces Agility, random sharp weapons, and you are good to go. That's the meta.

If you don't want to run meta, you can mix and match things, for example 2 pieces monster sets, 5 pieces Hunding, 5 pieces Spriggan etc, it's all up to your creativity.

This is what I'm using right now as a Nord Stam DK. The beginner gear is pretty easy to obtain. No idea how it performs in a trials environment.

Stam DK is something I've ran for a very long time and since you're starting out I'd suggest running 5 night mother and 3 vicious ophidian and 2 monster set; either selene or velidreth (velidreth is the best).

If you do not have vicious ophidian then substitute it with the agility set which can be bought until you get vicious ophidian.

When you get one of the two farm normal sanctum ophidia or veteran and get 5 twice fanged serpent and run that with 3 vicious ophidian and 2 velidreth.

I would say before even getting twice fang go for maelstrom weapons which will boost your damage.

Bar Dual wield: Rapid strikes, blood craze, venomous claw, rearming trap, evil hunter(un morphed).
Bar Bow: Other morph of arrow barrage, noxious breath, igneous weapons, poison injection, and vigor (vigor because I can't trust my healer unless I know them really well) if you can trust your healer switch vigor out for flames of oblivion.

I also PvP with my Stam DK (he's a legate although I've kinda given up on PvP with all the lag).

Thanks all for the input. My DK is already lvl 50, CP 417. I am going to make him work because he is the first guy I ever made in the beginning, and has done it all. Has the most explored, quests, achievements, pvp, etc. I already have Kragh on him, just need to grind for the traits, and he is already wearing night mothers and hundings. Thanks again everyone for your input, he will survive.
