I'd say styles, but not traits. That would be just too OP.

I think I said yes last time but I have changed my mind.

Just use a crafted set and forget about BIS... someone completed vMA with a broom.... your set doesn't really matter.

Basically if you could customise dropped sets you would make crafters less important as they would no longer be crafting sets. On top of that you would have less people out there looking for those dropped sets.

Maybe. Possibly if the items became BoP as soon as you adjusted them.

But there would have to be a cost associated with it. For example, it requires a rare and valuable catalyst in order to make the changes, along with the normal style and trait materials, plus a number of crafting vouchers.

Style. I have been asking in the forums for what seems like forever for crafters to be able to craft skins. It would give owning all these motifs a reason. Why buy motifs if you're stuck with the way dropped armour looks?

None of the existing costumes have much appeal for me.

    yes and no,

if u convert everything u find and destruct u couldget rare style items easely,
and not everything need to be converted so no

some drop sets are really good but ugly style , and as im a player who plays for looks not for power,
but really could use some dropped sets but for exemple dont like to mix daggerfall covenent style (wich tbh medium looks really awesome om my girl, with right colors ofc ) with freaking primal or barbaric so yes

Too many ******** in this forum.

"but yo man whatz d point od crfting gear then xD"

"no. Im a ***** and i wear julianos in 2017 because of the style havr fun wearing daedric style from BSW hahahaha im not selfish ofc"

I can't agree about the traits tho, I mean, yes it's nice because it will decrease the grinding but so many people already spent hundreds if not thousands of hours to get something that if they release this they will cry until their death, doing this is being selfish, like the "No" in this thread.

Yes and hell, yes! Make it require more than just the trait stone, though. Perhaps the furniture materials could find an additional use here?
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

    Um, no.

Why? Why would you not want to change how your character looks. Or do you enjoy having poorly designed styles that you do not get to choose. On top of that having to deal with a terrible RNG that literally takes some people over 1000 drops to get what they are looking for.

I would love to convert the look of my damned burning spell weave peices. I hate the visuals for daedric armor generally. Xivkyn is the only tolerable daedric armor for me.

In general we need to be able to create costumes such that we can actually use our motifs, or as you say, let us convert gear into any style. Both situations would fix the problem. I personally would prefer if we could create costumes with the motifs we know. Easier to apply and update etc.

Right now I only use costumes with custom dyes on it, since I'm not going to run around with a weird monster helmet etc.

I agree with styles. but traits, no. I know people are forever grinding for the perfect traits but that's part of the game.

everybody instantly having the perfect builds they need wouldn't be good for the game I feel.

Meh, you could make really expensive, I mean like 1000s of mats to redo the traits and styles. I was thinking like if you are redoing a chest piece it would take the same amount of rubedite bars that it would take for a full set of CP 160 gear, and maybe like 50 of the trait stone you want. That would be like 1.3k bars and 50 stones.

Yes the top level players will be able to afford that on a guild store, or people that have saved every last mat they have ever found would be able to for awhile at this point. However your average player wouldn't be able to. Your talking like like 10k bars, what 400 stones to fully redo armor. People would have to still grind that out but it's not unreachable and it feels better than being told oh just go run vMA and you might get it in 1000 runs.

That or there does need to be a token system and it takes at least 50 tokes to buy gear. You only get tokens from killing dungeon bosses and doing daily pledges like in WoW. You still have to grind out gear and dungeons, but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes to style but no to traits, because that would make the game too casual. I'm against the "*** casual" thing but that doesn't deny this fact

No to traits. That would hurt the economy and grind. Yes to changing gear style.

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

I am 100% with changing both styles and traits.

Styles because.... who uses crafted armor anymore anyway? I could see a situation where a new level CP 160 is ready for a first set of Julianos, but that is only until they get BSW. Stamina NMG and Hundings are still pretty viable for most content, although the cool kids are chasing after Twice Fanged Snake now. Most of the time it means I am going to get an ugly combination of gear and wear a costume.

Traits because... RNG is the bane of this game. I think it should require 9 traits researched and some rare item so it is not easy to do, but it should be possible, and it should only be worthwhile for really long sought after things, like making your VMA staff sharpened.

    Playing since beta...

    I would love for this.

An idea that I had goes as follows:

    1. Take gear to mages guild
    2. Find mage that specializes in illusion magic (special vendor)
    3. Place order (Which armour piece/weapon that needs transmog and which piece to transmog. You would need a piece of matching type armour/weapons (heavy for heavy, light for light, sword for sword, ax for ax, etc.))
    4. Pay fee and receive both pieces back. The new piece transmogged to match the style of the "donor" piece.
    5. Profit
    6. Your toon is now unique in look with the dungeon set bonuses you want

Technically they will kind of give you the ability to change armor styles with Morrowind. They will let you convert your existing armor to a new style, but it is just one (that I have heard) and just once (that I have heard).

This is going to work like the imperial change for the original game release. You can only change the look of crafted or non dropped set gear. So it's only really worth it if you want to change the look of gear you craft. Still have to deal with a look you might not like when it comes to dungeons sets.
