What computer improvements needed for ESO?

Below is my current build, which runs everything beautifully and smoothly until I'm at a dolmen or in a group dungeon where my FPS drops to around 15-20 from a usual steady 45-50. I can't imagine trials would be playable unless I downgrade my settings. Would getting a second GTX 970 video card help me most, or an additional 16GB of RAM? Thanks!

  • EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card (2-Way SLI)

You should not have any lag what so ever with this system. Evening time 20:00-22:00 gets laggy for everyone. Nothing you can do to that.

I would say look towards your addons and system.

It really only lags and drops down to 15-20FPS and feels "slow" to play when it's a group battle or dolmen battle and there are a crap ton of spells going off at once.

Do you have an HDD? Maybe picking up an SSD will speed up your game.
    Daggerfall Covenant
    Rank 17 Eightt: CP160 StamBlade
Rank 15 Sixthh: CP 160 StamSorc
    f**k magicka characters

maybe I'm zerging... maybe I'm running solo.... play how you wanna, pst for the 1v1

It's not your pc. Here are my specs

    I7 5820k @3.0ghz

    MSI X99 SLI PLUS MB
    MSI GTX 1060 - 6gb
    Corsair h80i
    G.Skilled rip jaws 32g. [4 x 8gb] DDR4 @2133
    1tb SSD which holds eso
    500gb SSD which holds windows

Even I have issues with eso. I run a solid 100fps but I can't run ultra. Only able to run medium settings which makes absolutely no sense at all

    Neither option.

The bottleneck for this game is the CPU, since it loves to eat up one core and leave the others barely used.

Only thing you can really do is unpark your cores. I've noticed after I did that the game runs a lot smoother.

That wouldn't improve performance in the game, it only improves your load times to get into the game.

I have a similar setup, except I have an AMD 8350, and I have no issues with lag, except when evreyone else does. Don't think it's your system, it's elsewhere.
