Hoping we'll at least see morph info for all skills. Really hard theory crafting a build with such limited info.

I'd really like to know, definitively, if major sorcery will impact the ice skills that scale on Max health

A few questions from the community I gathered earlier in the week (I have to be helpful to counter my terrible posting).
Spoiler tagged to not elongate this thread too much.

I'm curious to how the damage calculations work with the bear ultimate.

Does it benefit from all offensive stats?

If the player has a buff say minor berserk, does the bear increase in damage as well ? Or would the buff have to be cast on the bear for it to benefit?
    Tyrion87 wrote: »
One question bothers me all the time: why so few class skills that deal dmg? Only buffs and heals...

I wanna know how they will address the never ending lag spikes once Morrowind drops and there are wardens and pets running around everywhere...
    Thraben wrote: »
Since many wardens will be werewolves as well:

Can warden-werwolves use vigor in werewolf form so that they are still able to off-heal?
Question 1: Are you going to over-buff the warden for the first 2 months of Morrowind so that everyone has to buy it to be competitive?

Question 2: Since I already know the real answer to number 1, is there any way we can convince you not to so that PvP and endgame trials are not pure cheese for 2 months just so you can sell more boxes?
I would really like the option to ''pick" your animal for the Warden ult. I don't really want a bear at all! I would really like a Dire Wolf or some sort of Senche ... I will play a Warden regardless, but the option to choose our pet ult would be golden, instead of forced to use a bear.

    • How does the damage on Cliff Racer hold up to Force Pulse?
    • Will Impaling Shards be "deadly" at 60K+ health, similar to Blazing Shield?
    • How much damage will the Wild Guardian deal on typical attacks and execute-buffed attacks compared to current abilities we have access to (trying to get an understanding of the numbers behind it)?
    • If Sleet Storm is going to keep the Major Protection buff, will Remembrance be changed to stop the stacking of damage mitigation?
    Lynx7386 wrote: »
    My questions:

    1. Will buffs like major sorcery benefit the frost spells that scale off of health?

    2. Similarly, will Major sorcery and major brutality effect the bear ultimate damage?

    3. will the tree Grove created by the nature ultimate block line of sight, making it a little obstacle to use in battlegrounds?

    4. Early on, one of the text hints for ice shards said it could be used to move enemies around. Will one of the morphs have a Fiery chains like pull effect?

    5. Will we get a Senche-raht skin for the bear?

    6. Do the wing visuals from bird of prey remain for the duration of the buff (10 seconds) or are they like dk flappy wings and only show for a second.

    7. Are there going to be any improvements to hybrid builds, or will the warden be designed with viable hybrid builds in mind?

    8. Show us all the other morphs! =)

Show us every morph so we may theorycraft
I'm more interested in how they envision the Warden character. Yes, you can take any role with any class, but some are better at specific ones, so I'm curious if they see the Warden as more of a support character?

And the most important question asked in the thread.
What is your favorite pizza topping?

Although it's entirely off-topic from the rest of ESO Live.

Could you have someone clarify how the Treasure Hunter Champion Passive works?
There are a couple of threads open at the moment with debate about it and it seems we have another Dolman Pinions situation where there are debates over speculative versions of its workings.

I know you all have a lot to cover with Morrowind only a couple of months away, but please bring back the general Q&A's soon, it was a great place to ask obscure questions and get some feedback from the Devs.

    My reactions to Animal Companions:

    ACTIVE ABILITIES:

Dive: I understand the rationale for wanting to make this skill undodgable because of its long telegraph, but the same could be said for Crystal Fragments, which is easily dodgable. Crystal Fragments can also be reflected. I get that reflecting a bird attacking you wouldn't make much sense realistically, but a person would absolutely be able to dodge a bird swooping at them in real life. It's not an aoe skill or a channeled skill, so currently doesn't behave consistently with other skill rules. THIS SKILL SHOULD BE DODGABLE. Perhaps increase the animation speed or change the teleport in animation to be less noticable.

Dive Morphs: No additional benefit besides being a stamina morph seems underwhelming compared to increased damage at a distance with the magicka morph.

Scorch: This is a cool skill, but with a 3 second delay it reminds me of a ground based version of Velocious Curse. If this skill is intended to be part of a dps rotation it seems like it will suffer from the same high cost/attention problems that lead to the development of Haunting Curse. Also, there's no indicator during the delay to help you know if your opponent is standing in the effected area or not. If something like a teal version of Refreshing Path was shown (maybe just visible to the caster, so as not to telegraph it too much), it would help with getting or keeping the enemy positioned. Both morphs look good.

Swarm: This ability looks great and both morphs are cool.

Betty Netch: This ability looks very strong. Free magicka, Major Sorcery, non-toggle and non-targetable pet that works with Necropotence...there's just no operational cost at all. I think it should at least have a cast time like the bear.

Netch Morphs: Again, just changing the ability from a magicka to a stamina version feels underwhelming compared to infinite free purges. I mean...free purges?? I know it's only one at a time, but still. I guess we'll see if it's actually balanced on the PTS. Maybe you could make it cost some magicka if the player resummoned within 4 seconds. That wouldn't punish players from resummoning a little early, but would make spamming it over and over to constantly purge have at least some cost.

Falcon's Swiftness: This skill gives some nice self buffs, but considering the fact that the Netch and many of the skills from the other lines are buff oriented, this one feels like a missed opportunity for another damage skill. Two out of three skills in the DPS tree for the class do no damage. The skill itself looks nice, but seems somewhat underwhelming as the fifth skill of a DPS skill line.

Falcon Morphs: These offer a nice choice between two good buffs to add on.

    PASSIVES:

Bond with Nature: It was unclear from ESO Live if Falcon's Swiftness triggers this passive, since it doesn't look like it's "summoning" anything. Also, if the Netch does, (which I assume) that means a Warden can not only get a free purge but a free heal as well by recasting it. I suppose the heal has been tuned down to a level similar to the Sorcerer's dark magic passive heal, but there are no spamable skills in that line, and it's only based on doing damage. Certainly, there's no other skill in the game that has 0 cost and heals you, nevermind a free purge on top of that. I would recommend this passive only apply to damaging skills.

All the other passives look fine. No further comment.

    ULTIMATE:

Bear: I was surprised the bear does a stun. This is nice on one hand, since the only other stun available is from Deep Fissure, but problematic on the other because it's out of the player's control. How are you supposed to time a burst that includes stunning an opponent if your bear can randomly give them 7 seconds of stun immunity?

Bear Morphs: The fact that the bear has no ultimate cost makes the auto-resummon version nearly pointless. Saving a couple seconds of cast time vs. having an actual use for your ultimate points and the only execute type of ability in the Warden's kit is a comical comparison. The problem is that the only good version is a stamina based one. The bear should do either physical or magic damage depending on your highest resource pool, or just let the other morph be a magic version of the same thing. I'm sure the idea of the Eternal Guardian was cool at first when it cost 250 ultimate to resummon, but it is pitiful now. Please rework this! Magicka Wardens should be able to spend ultimate to get an execute too.

One final note: I mainly play a pet sorcerer and was super excited to hear that pets will now scale with our stats. Please make sure this corrects the weapon vs. spell critical issue the pets have as well. Others have posted the evidence that the pets look at weapon critical and not spell critical for their rating. Hopefully this will be fixed with Morrowind. Also check their threat generation, please! Something seriously broke in Homestead with pets (specifically the familiar) not taking aggo away from a sorcerer onto himself, which is different from pre-homestead, and much worse for solo play. Laatly, I'm happy about the heavy attack directing pets. Good addition!

    Thanks!

For Dive, remember that Wardens have a 6% more physical damage done, so the stamina morph is always buffed, no matter the distance.

I think I heard you say something that really blew me away. Is it true that the XP boost will continue even after the end of the Jester Festival? If so, that will be a tremendous gift from ESO to the entire player community. Are there any details you can share with us on this yet? Thanks
