Biting jabs vs rapid strikes

I am still getting to cp160 (150 atm), so I don't have gear, let alone maelstrom weapons, so which is better pure single target DPS? Right now, 1-3 targets I'm using jabs, and 4+ I spin to win, just wondering if the single target choice matters without BiS weapons.

    Jabs also gives savagery for a crit chance boost. Im pretty sure it's the better choice

    Jabs almost always.

    And it is a waste to carry both skills replace whichever skill you use less often with a DOT or a utility skill.

    My trap goes off all the time. If you are doing it right the boss should be stationary for at least 12 seconds.

    Not 100% sure on math but have jabs (or 1 aredic spear ability) slotted give 10% extra crit damage.

    I have both abilities on my bar right now, and I would keep it for the buff. I want to know which I should be using on single target, or if I jab until 25% and switch to rapid strikes, or if I get rid of rapid strikes all together.

    Thanks, I'm gonna do a respec a some point to get rid of the skills I rarely use to put them into crafting. Thank you all for the help.

    One more thing I was wondering was about trap beast. I Almost never get the second trap with rearming, and have to place it again anyway. Why is rearming the go to instead of light trap?

    It's not really up to me where the boss goes. As I said in my OP, I'm still sub cp160, and therefore not doing vet dungeons. Hopefully tanks stop running around like idiots when I start them.

    I had a tank the other day that seemed like he was purposely running out of the ground are and traps the other dps and I were laying down. I said "it would go a long way for our dps if you didn't move so much", the other dps agreed, the tank said ok, then proceeded to run around the entire area nonstop.
