What is the highest possible lit staff damage?

Right now im at gold sharpened, 540 cp.
I went 2/2/2/2/1 (2 pc spell dmg x 4 with kena shoulders). I get 4800-7500 dot ticks and 12k final on hvy attacks. My spell damage sits at 3200 unbuffed.

I got 75 cp in thaumaturge, 75 in staff damage and the rest split between crit and elemental. Any advice to up my damage?

I got 500 less damage running elegant, vma staff is too much trouble and apparently broken. Infallible I'm working on.

Get gud scrub... infallible aether is very bad for lightning staff heavy attacks as it overwrites "off balance" and never allows it.

Highest damage would be with undaunted inflitator on support bar - cast anything and then swap to vma sharp lightning staff.

Elegance set and slimecraw (though I use ilambris for extra off balance proc) would give you highest ticks. Mine ticks for 9k-13k and 18k when off-balanced.

tbh I don't like illambris due to its small aoe circle, if the target isn't stationary you barely do any damage. Definitely going to try slimecraw,
I do 6700 on a crit with elegance and 7500 with all spell damage 2 pieces though so not sure why that is.

I just noticed this thread and wanted to leave this here. Far from my best parses, but they show you where you can get:

Keep in mind that the maelstrom staffs are bugged now so i dont get the enchantment from my sharpened lightning staff in raids. Actually losing 5-6k DPS through this.... You notice as i practically have the same heavy attack damage by myself against the dummy and in raids...If they fix it soon I'll finally be able to get decent raid parses down.

Setup:

2 Illambris, 5 Spinner and 4 Aether with charged Spinner Lightning on main bar, sharpened vMA lightning back bar.

i usually tank, when i dps, it's usually in a trial (and yes my dps is scrub level)

i've been told that, in trial only one person can proc his maelstrom staff, the other maelstrom staves will be wasted. and the 5% damage buff from IA and the 8% minor vulnerability debuff ought to help a bit even if it can't set target off balance?
