We started a biggest loser campaign at my job on January 13th, and today was the first weigh in. I'm happy to report that I'm down 44 lbs and am at my lowest weight in 10 years.

While eating better had a lot to do with it, I also cut 1 hour a day out of my ESO play time. Instead of logging in from 7 to 10, I cut it down to 8 to 10 using the extra hour to walk about 10,000 steps a night.

As many of us know, playing MMOs is not exactly the healthiest activity. I recommend to virtually all of you to get a bit more exercise every day. You'll feel better, you'll look better and to be honest, you'll probably play better in the long run.

Good luck to all of you. Here's to being down 100 come December.

Awesome, that's great to hear OP and I hope it keeps going well for you.

I changed my diet about 8 months ago and eat a lot better food now and have since lost a lot of weight, I need to really do more excercise (desk job, gaming hobby) other than the couple of miles I walk each day.

The main driving force for me? I ordered some ESO tshirts and they're tight in an ugly way... I want to be able to wear them and feel confident so it's time to slim.

It has been a bit different in my case. I have been an avid gamer for the last 25 years but in the last few years I had developed a weight issue. Probably combined lack of exercise, overeating and eating the wrong stuff, not necessarily caused by gaming itself, but by my lifestyle as a whole. I'm 6'1" and weighed 265 lbs 2 years ago. Then I decided to lose weight. July 1st 2015 I started eating far less. By October 15th I had reached 175 lbs. I started playing ESO a short time before my crash diet ended, about October 1st. I have been able to maintain keep myself under 185 lbs. while working a full time 8h job and playing ESO for up to 6h a day, simply by eating less than I used to. Lately I decided to stop using bus to the metro station where I travel to work, and instead walk the 2 miles there both ways. So there's about 4 miles of fast walk as daily exercise.

I gained a bunch of weight too OP, happy to report I'm down almost 20 pounds. Goal is weight 144, so another 30 to go! Once I get new shoes, it's gonna be jog city every morning / evening for an hour everyday.

I did this last year and it works for me. But with 1 pound a month as my average, I think I can lose more with more daily exercise.

I am really prone to Heart Disease and Diabetes, so it's very VERY important for me, if I DONT want to take pills/poke myself for blood, to get this weight off.

glad its working out for you! way to go!

personally switched to water and a high protein low carb diet so I could be on a hyper caloric diet and lose weight but still gain muscle, workout about half an hour every day and go for a run about every other day. lots of chicken and yogurt XD

nutrition is half the fight, best advice I can give you is don't go on a diet, change your nutrition for life. people go ON a diet and plan on getting OFF a diet, then they gain that weight right back (seen it personally within family :C )

if anyone is looking to get in shape I recommend looking at Athlean-X on youtube for men and Athlean-XX for women. great help great advice, cannot recommend enough and SAFE. changed my life.

This is great advice. Don't go on a diet, instead change your diet. Also, having one bad meal today doesn't mean you have to have 3 bad meals tomorrow. Set backs will happen, but they can be overcome if you are persistent.

And if anyone was wondering THEDKEXPERIENCE diet is as follows. It only costs a fraction of what you would spend in a day for junk food.

    Breakfast: Light Yogurt
Lunch: Spinach, Kale, Tomatoes, and Carrots. Very little light dressing.
Dinner: Same as lunch but with a pound of skinless chicken on the salad.

Every 4 or 5 days I'll eat something dumb like a burrito or pizza so I keep my sanity, but then it's back on track. Mix in 1-2 cups of black coffee and a bunch of water and you're good. The whole thing should cost you less than $10 a day. Pre-making a week's worth of salads helps a ton. I leave one in my work refrigerator and one at home.

My big change was switching to salads for lunch most days (cucumber, carrot, tomato and either chicken or fish, no dressings).

I'm really bad for breakfasts as I tend to run out the house to grab a bus and sleep as late as possible. Currently it's an apple and banana just because I can throw them in my bag as I run out the door. Been thinking for a while to try and get yogurts which I can keep in the fridge at work and eat when I get in.

Dinner I am terrible for and still mostly have frozen throw in the oven for 20mins food because my current living location doesn't allow me much freedom to do longer prepared meals.

Lots of coffee on mine, two or three black coffees a day with a decaf in the evenings on work nights.

Most of my holdbacks are just due to general laziness, but hopefully I will find the drive to fix them soon.

Awesome, but if you play ESO on a treadmill, you can get the 10,000 steps and not cut down on the play time. I must caution that this can be a problem if you can't move your feet in one direction and do something different with your character.

I believe in being an omnivore, but in the end all that matters is balance. "We" lost the balance because we don't know what we eat anymore for the most part. Thinking this or that is healthy when in reality it is chock full of preservatives, sugar, salt and my all time favourite - modified corn starch.

Regardless that's not what I came here for - wanted to say congrats to the OP!

I add another exercise to the mix while walking, which is holding back roughly 120lbs of dog trying to say hi to other dogs :p

I started at a svelte 304.4. Since I'm about 5'8" those numbers don't work out too well. Pretty sure my blood type had become sugar.

The best advice I can give is to always be hungry and only eat enough to make the hunger tolerable. During my weight loss period I averaged 400 kcal/day, eating mostly vegetable salads, with no dressing, just cut veggies with vinnegar, some fruit and very rarely a slice of bread. I only ate meat once every 10-15 days, and only a small serving, 1/4-1/3 lbs or so. I'm now averaging around 1200-1600 kcal/day but eat a more balanced diet, with whole grain brad, low fat yogurt, vegetables and lean meat. No way I will start eating chips, sweets and other empty calories. It's just inefficient.

Lol OP gj but if you just drink water everyday instead of soda you would see a dramatic change in your weight as well, might I also suggest cutting out bread everyday to only once or twice a week, No more Sweetrolls(sugar) and cut down on fats ( trollfat ).

You will see a change, but it's not ESO it's your diet and the excersise.

Also just a note to folks who play multiple hours at a time if you are playing more than a hour and a half take a 15 min break and walk around, sitting that long is really hard on your body.

My formula is a 15 minute break for every 90 mins I'm on.
