COD question

I'm trying to send an item COD. I've added the other person as a friend on Xbox already (Xbox EU player) but they don't show up on my friends list in game, nor can I just send a mail to the player, as the mail system tells me that the gamer tag is not found. I've never done anything COD before, just through shops, but this is a high value furnishing item that we negotiated a price on.

Am I doing something wrong or is the mail system just busted? What can I do to fix this issue? I feel like a bit of an unprofessional crafter here

I'm not a console player so forgive my lack of understanding.

Have you tried sending it to their @ name (account ID) or character name?

You only have an option to send it via their gamer tag, as far as I know.

I envy you PC players, you seem to have a lot more options for UI. It's unwieldy as heck on the console sometimes.

Okay, thanks for letting me know.

Yeah sorry as a PC player for me I go to send mail then choose either their account ID or the character name, so I wasn't sure if console let you use the same options. Hopefully someone who is an XB1 player can hop in and answer this for you.

@Tylos001 maybe? As he's the only one I can remember being on XB1 which I engage with on the forums.

Okay, so as far as I understand I'm a little bit confused here?? 1. are you 100% sure they are EU and not NA? 2. Try typing there gamertag in manually through the mail tab?

Yes, I'm sure they are EU, they contacted me about it in game on the EU server. I suspect though I may be having problems with my UI overall however now, because I can't use group text chat either.

No offense, but I don't know if he'd appreciate that. You can add me though, my GT is my user name, and see if you can message me with the mail system. I also added another guy from one of my guilds today as a friend on Xbox but he doesn't show up on in game friends list either. I've messaged customer support about this issue already.

Very frustrating, I've been trying to sell this item for a while to him for a while now, and I just bought Hunding's Hall today and I want to buy all sorts of stuff for it.

Are you in a guild together? if so you can go to their name in a guild roster and send them mail from there?

@ASkullParty Can you not do it in text chat? if either of you write in text chat or whisper and can see it, can you scroll up in text chat and highlight their name and send a mail this way?

The problem is that this guy seems to be on opposite hours from me and I've yet to catch him. I'm generally a morning/early afternoon player and he's a nighttime guy. That's a good work around though, I'll try it.

Why can't we just search for players in game? Why do they have to be friends? That is a huge error in game design, imo.

You don't need them in your friends list to mail, you can type their name. Just have to get it 100% correct, spaces etc etc unsure on upper / lower case but worth doing that too no harm.

To appear in your friends you need to add them and they need to add you. Otherwise its one way.

Can he mail you in game? Help you copy the GT?

Yeah ive had a few of these moments, usually a good hard reset of my xbox sorts out these issues, you don't have to be friends on xbox live to send them mail. I send random guildies stuff they ask for in guild chat.

@Beardimus You solved my problem! He had irregular letter in his tag, which I thought was an I but it was a lower case L. I had tried sending it before but it didn't work as a found player!

Lesson learned!
