If racials didnt exist, what race would your characters be?

A question as I am curious. My main is currently is a redguard stam sorc and if I hadn't been forced to min/max he would have probly been a dunmer, but I have grown attached to him and have since came up with a story about his origins and how a redguard became a part of the dominion. My mag sorc would remain altmer since it fits best with a magika based class but the rest of my female characters I would turn bosmer in an instant.

My races do fit well with their builds, but even if they didn't, I wouldn't play a race I don't like.7 -

I mean sure, there are certain racials that are much more superior than others for certain situations, but frankly.. I just want a race-class combo that fits me and my idea, as opposed to "That's what them guides said".
So if I want my Magic-wielding Nightblade be an Argonian, I darn well will make a Magical Argonian Nightblade.
PvE/PvP nutters might go crazy at such a notion, since "oh em gee Argonians best Healers passives", but I couldn't give a Toshley about that. What's the fun in playing your character if you made him for the sole purpose of min-maxing?7 -

Also, every class would be the same select races if everyone played their characters that way.
I also would be unchanged. Similar to other people's posts, I set my characters up to go along with the archetype of that class in my head. Playing my characters are super rewarding this way, and I don't need a dungeon / trial / calculator to give me that incredible feeling. No mud on those that do need that, I'm just saying, this is how I play my game

✭Like others have said, I choose races that I find interesting or that appeal to me, based on what I have learnt about them in previous years and from research into their lore, their culture and their observed character. If the racial perks don't quite fit with how I want to play them, so be it. I'm much happier playing a race that I have a genuine affinity for than something created or geared towards best stats or whatever. I won't say anything negative or childish to those who do want best stats, it's just not for me, that's all.2 -

✭✭✭Unchanged. I'm a Breton, and proud of it. I chose Breton not for the racials, else I would have been an Imperial (as I wanted to be a stamina based character on launch).
Bretons are just cool. Other races stink. Especially Argonians and Orks.٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶
