Ultra Mega World Titan Bosses

So I was thinking back to some old MMO games the other day and something I always thought was quite fun as the random events that would take place! What I think that would make the game epic would be to have special enemies such as titans or super powered enemies that spawn in each zone say, every 2 hours! They give a huge amount of xp and a chance at daedric themed items like furnishings or motifs?

Since you politely asked to explain, I'll try, to the best of my abilities, to do so as this is kind of a vague question you're asking in terms of context.

I'm kinda sure that it's lore friendly given that the current situation is hectic in terms of the invasion going on across Tamriel. Though I'm not so sure about the scale of it as Molag Bal's primary target is the Imperial City.
That said, I'm quite on the fence about this. If it can be done, it should be done the right way.

They should give those titans a weak spot at the nape of their necks, and give some ppl the ability to shift into a titan...

@Sneaky-Snurr It might not even have to be Molag bal, it could be the main story in that area summons a huge flesh attronach or something!

This would be cool. I've been hoping for something like this to happen.

I would make the boss spawns more rare however. Each zone every couple of hours is a bit too often.
Maybe one per alliance area every few hours.

I'd kind of like it, but maybe make it some kind of server event (so we get an alert that it's about to happen and we have time to go army up in the spawn area). Could get the Molag Bal voice to announce one of his Generals/sons/daughters/etc is about to blahblahblah at blahblahblah.

Otherwise it'll just get quietly camped by the same guys and destroyed before anyone normal finds the spawn.

I would rather a random timer and maybe a random zone.

I used to play Ragnarok Online where it had overworld boss monsters which had set spawn times. It would become a thing where you would note kill times on them and then farm respawns.

Also they would need to have some true hitting power. This could also be something which encourages open world competition with the top 12 loot thing, although that's one for debate.

Would be good for something like that to appear, give it an absurd amount of hp and hits like a truck but the rewards for killing it is a nice amount of gold/xp, daedric style furniture sounds good or some gold items from whatever zone it spawns in.

@Messy1 ive never played WOW, do they have something similar?

So "mega" WBs in WoW required at least 20-30 players to team up and survive certain phases and mechanics that the bosses threw at the players.

After a while, the boss mechanics were figured out and larger and larger groups would do it. Also, it became a gigantic blur of lights on your screen as AoEs popped everywhere.

I can only assume you have never been in PVP, otherwise you would know that the game engine could not handle this many people in one place spaming skills.

Whilst I agree, this would be a great thing. It would break the game.

Yes this. 1000000000% random spontaneous fun and killing. Make rewards change frequently to generate interest. Stuff like the boss spawns little adds. Kill the boss for a chance at getting the add as a pet. Lord Dagon is having his birthday sometime soon and will need to party right?

It' anticlimactic to have an overworld boss that is more difficult to defeat than Molag Bal or the Celestials.

Having open world bosses spawn randomly and then be defeated by trained 8 or 12 man groups kind of defeats the purpose and will only result in aggravation for the overwhelming majority of players.

In this game of soloists, to organize and coordinate 50+ players to defeat a worldboss appropriately powered is impossible.

I hated overworld bosses in most of the games I played. We will not get back the times of Ultima or DAoC, players have changed too much.

Solid NOOOO from my point of view.

    But you know,
if that happens with the 1000000000% random, people will start complaining again about RNG

"Oh noo, that superworldboss spawned in Rivenspire before and now again; that's not random..."
"The people in Rivenspire deserve it, the filty mudbloods bloodfiends!!", says the roleplayer
"what, but it's not in the lore! No one ever talked about superworldbosses in the lore", says another one
"offcourse it's not in the lore, all who saw them where killed", the roleplayer responds
"he hoo, guys, I was talking about the RNG; not about the bloodfiends or superworldbosses, or whatever... Zos needs to fix the lore RNG!" said the whiner
The roleplayer gets mad: "shut up man! Or you roleplay with us, or you go! Catch a princess-pig if you want RNG"
"but that's no RNG, if I run behind the Inn the butcher never spawns there," the whiner answers
"Goddamnit Zos, fix that, so he stops crying about all that stuff.. The only way to cry is with /cry"

    Whilest at ZOS
"OMG, there we go again...it starts again... after 25 days the superworldboss finally spawns in Rivenspire for 2 times in a row and they complain about randomness...."
