ESO switching to desktop on it's own

Spaghettiknight
I know this is caused by programs giving notifications. But it still happens with Windows' Task Bar notifications set to quiet hours (silent) and my antivirus set to silent mode (no desktop notifications). Even with my antivirus comepletely disabled it's happening. Not as much but still sometimes. It used to ONLY happen with my antivirus giving notifications. I know that if silent mode is on and it still does it it could be my antivirus still, but it shouldn't be happening if my antivirus is off. Steam notifications are also turned off. It's definitely not from the laucher in the background because even with that closed completely it still happens. Is there a setting or add on to prevent it from switching out period? The launcher never caused this before, it was always my antivirus doing it. ESO, Steam, and my antivirus are all that run while I play ESO.

I am using windowed fullscreen and it "freezes" and only shows the pointer without control input until I click, which is the same as it switching out.

Did you try to run only ESO when almost all applications are disabled in the system tray?
It could be triggered by something else.

Sometimes games switch to it's desktop too because pressing too many the Shift button, but this is relating to a prompt for Sticky Keys....

This can occur if the monitor is set to a non-standard resolution. We ask that players launch the game in Windowed mode and set the game to the correct resolution from there.

Head to the UserSettings.txt file, located in My Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\Live, and open it with Notepad

    Find the line

    SET FULLSCREEN_v5 "2"

    and change it to

    SET FULLSCREEN_v5 "0"

Once this is set, the game should launch in a small window. From there, head to the settings and choose the resolution that matches your monitor.

Oddly enough it stopped after the last maintenance.
