I preferred the New Life Festival - even if I got skunked out of the top achievement because of that one gold recipe. I still use the costumes I got out of it and yeah, it got grindy but there were some fun things to do with a group - like the polar bear plunge, or the dancing/performing things.

Jester's Festival: The Double XP memento and three different locales is an improvement, but the rewards are meh and I'm only grinding that one pig quest so I can unlock the tree rewards. It may end up being this years fish eye rye

That said, I'm happy with any free event that comes along - adds a little spice to the game, gives me something work for. If I don't enjoy it, I don't have to do it.

tl;dr: ROI was better for New Life

Jester festival is awesome. Simple stuff to do for just a few minutes for some little extra rewards and some funny dialogues.

As for the event. I was hoping we would be sent to all the zones, one different set each day. Make it a little more interesting. Also, the New Life event was much better for leveling skills as there were so many mini-quests. It was a great almost non combat way to level skills, like Resto Staff.

Thank you very much! Ran both characters and still didn't get the rune box but got your mail and don't have to worry about it. I have a friend that could use the spare too, as he is out of town and will miss the festival. He never got the mud ball patch so I gave him a spare of that. It's things like this that show there are awesome people in this community.

Jester fest queets and dialogues were much fun for me when I did it first time.
Sadly, I am gong to do it my 26th time soon and still haven't gotten all the rewards.

Halloween event was executed well as the rewards were dropped during normal game play and not these daily repeatable quests that gets boring and the grind just becomes annoying after 3-4 runs. They should change the way how they do events. Either make a fun quest and drop the rewards from normal game play like in halloween event, or make a long quest that gives all the rewards after you have completed it, with a possibility for repeatable ending that gives you something extra, but not anything that you would really need (eg. extra coin, random set pieces, consumables like the flowers we can toss on players)
