Is the Jester Event any better than what New Life was?

It's really sad but I've found myself in a "ESO doesn't entice me" rutty mood lately, which was only worsened by Andromeda coming out. I haven't logged on in weeks and I had thoughts that maybe I could just put the game down, play other things I haven't touched much and then jump back in when June comes around with Morrowind.

But how's this Jester thing going? Is it something that I should have my Character do before it's over? Or is it just another almost pointless run back and forth daily mini quest thing like New Life was. Is there a new Crafting Style? Any limited time items?

No new crafting styles, some limited store stuff mostly a costume and some other things. Should probably get on atleast once to get all the achievements if you want to be able to buy these 2 achievement tree's off the vendor for your house if you have any. Also double xp as well just simply eating a pie through collectables on each character, about 7 more days left I believe.

It's only useful for double xp honestly friend. The daily quests are just little comical 20 minutes mission that have you do mischeivious deeds. With little rewards like a banner or recipe. I got the crown and title the first day.

Yeah I also heard it was just a double xp event last year I wasn't here for it though, I came back in December of last year after a break since 1.0, 3 months after launch.

They are both just reskinned versions of each other. The jester event is merely New Life Light. Toss in a few different silly quests, some different rewards and take away the motif and we have the Jester Event.

The simple story behind it is creative, though there really is nothing interesting for all types, or most types, of players in the game.

We need special WBs and maybe even an instanced trial quality single boss that offers great challenges and great rewards. Maybe normal has a lower chance at trial weapons, vet a greater chance and HM a guaranteed chance at trial weapons.

IMO the Jester's Festival quests are far less enjoyable to do than even the last New Life festival which had very repetitive quests in it's own right. They need to go back to how the Halloween festival was done and put in the event rewards for doing real in-game activities like Dolmens, Dungeons, PvP, ect and ditch these dumb short quests that are the same every day. Putting the rewards in actual game content populates that content just like the double AP did in Cyrodiil a couple weeks ago and more populated, more rewarding content is more fun to play.

I liked the New Life event. The jester one just kind of bores me after one run through.

It was fun the first time through, especially if you stopped to watch the plays. But if you wanted the achievements, it had very little replay value.

    lets see...

the double xp is memento not locale specific so... better.
the achievements allow purchase of really good animated trees so... better
the recipes include a decent stamina specialty so... better
the "quests" are quick to complete so... better

so yes to me it seems better.

When they did the cake bit, it had people using the cake to block entrances. They learned and put in a keg for New Life, but that required going back to the same spot to reset. The pie is an improvement on both, so it has that going for it.

The rewards are less exciting, and I still don't have the single Rune Box with the permanent cherry blossom spitter.

It is a free event though, so I'm happy and it was interesting the first couple of times through.

Are you on PC/NA, I can send you one or five, I have about 20 of them. You only need one for your entire account.

As for the event. I was hoping we would be sent to all the zones, one different set each day. Make it a little more interesting. Also, the New Life event was much better for leveling skills as there were so many mini-quests. It was a great almost non combat way to level skills, like Resto Staff.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Did you read op? He is asking if it is worth it.

Making a complaint post about people complaining in reference to a post that wasn't a complaint is a little silly and adds absolutely nothing to the post.

To op. It is almost identical to new life, just a smaller/ shorter version with different quest. It is extremely easy to get all the achievements if your into that kind of thing.

I have also been taking a break and playing wildlands. But I did log on 1 day and got all the achievements on 1 of my main toons.

I enjoyed the new life festival quite a lot - but I don't enjoy the jester's festival,

The jesters themselves are annoying, the only quest that was any good is the princess one - except it's ruined by making it almost impossible to do without getting a bounty. I swear those apples are scripted to make you detected when you press the steal button!

the cherry blossom one is basically the same as the mudball one - but pinker, and you have to go to three places, which is a bit annoying.

the dazzler one is basically two "go into the dungeon and collect 8 things" quests, followed by three "go here and press a key" tasks. it's really generic and boring.

It's nice that you get a hat for completing it once (maybe worth doing it for that at least). Bit disappointed with the lack of furnishing items as rewards though - Why is there no recipes? Homestead has just come out - they should be doing furniture and recipes all over the place! I used the banner, but it'll be the first thing to go when i reach item cap.

I'm hoping that the jester trees are worth the pain of repeating these quests all the time...

I've done... what 24 of the quests...

Still need the stam, health, stam regen recipe :( and they are selling for 15-40k gold!

The apples, here's a hint, It does NOT matter if you're sneaking or not, when you steal the apples there MUST NOT be a single NPC within view range. If there is, you'll get a bounty, if not, it's smooth sailing.

Yep, PC NA with same name in game. I still have about a week to get it, but don't know the drop rate. I'm currently running it on two characters, so I may still get lucky. Should at least start with all the other characters for the free box for starting.

The New Life had me in more areas with more quests, and the Halloween one had me grinding CP at the same time, so they were better in that respect.

If you do everything that the event includes, takes a day, you get to buy a couple trees.

There is the option to run around like your knees don't work, so there is that.

I have ran it a few times and some guildies sent me a recipe I was missing to finish off the thing. It's not bad. Many people are leveling up new toons now for the double xp.

I regret never having finished off the Halloween event, so I'd recommend doing this one.

I like the jester festival better than new life because even with the almost mandatory bounty you get with the pig quest the quests are less glitchy. A lot of the new life things that you had to do would not work unless you were in exactly the right spot doing the right thing. Ugh wasn't a fan. With jesters if you don't care for the stuff you can just grab the pie and go do whatever.

I thought New Life was better than the Jester's festival.

New Life at least took me a few evenings to get through all the quests once each. With the Jester's Festival I completed all 3 quests in just over an hour and a half (reading all the dialogue, asking all follow-up questions, sneaking through delves and riding up to the College on Auridon because my character had never been there before). Now all that's left is spamming items for the achievements or doing the same quests all over again for boxes to award more items to spam.

With the Witches Festival I was willing to accept it was their first ever attempt at a festival and I assumed that was why there was so little to it and future festivals would be more like how other games do it, with a variety of different quests, mini games, special PvP modes etc. Now I'm starting to worry this is all we're ever going to get. :(

The best part of this event is the jester personality. But that's just a crown store purchase so that should tell you a lot about the event itself.
