Can i purchase eso plus or crown in steam without having the account linked to steam??

I believe you can yes, I don't have the steam edition but I believe there purchases are through there company not ZoS from the looks of it but double check just to make sure

i wish we could with skyrim as well.
i hate steam and valve program. horrible company methods they have.

If you think Steam is bad. Take a look at Microsoft's Windows store or EA's Origin.

Origin: You cannot play your games without internet connection. If you don't have one, too bad, you won't be able to play your games.
Windows store: Now that you purchased software from us, how about giving us X sum of money monthly so that we don't lock you out of your purchases?

Logically, if your account is not linked to Steam, there would be no way for a Steam purchase to be applied to your account. In order to buy ESO Plus or Crowns through Steam, Steam needs to know what to do with them.
