ESO Support - First Interaction

Hey guys, I just got forum access for the first time in over two years. I've heard all of the horror stories about ESO support but my oh my... its that bad and, I wanted to tell my eso support story here.

Little backstory here though, My partner at the time we purchased ESO created both of our accounts while I was out working so I could play as soon as I got home. And everything has been great up until last Sunday when I got back from my month long trip to an empty eso account. After 2000 hours I'm staring at a blank character selection screen in sheer doubt. Fast forward past all the personal stuff and I ended up creating a ticket hopeful that we would be able to fix it and redeem my characters.

Creating a ticket starts off with a 3 day period where you don't hear anything useful and robots respond to your issues with fixes that aren't even in the same realm as what you need. I was then responded to the next day only to be told they were sending my ticket up higher. I was then responded to 2 days later telling me they had switched over my account and, that my issue had be resolved. Only I wasn't able to log into the account they had switched it under. LOL. The ticket was actually marked solved despite my 100 emails stating I still need help. Well I didn't get another response from them until I decided to blow up their twitter today a whole week later and I was finally given my response and basically told I'm out of luck.

Despite the support team relinking my account to a new email and giving me forum access for the first time they say there is no evidence that my account was compromised. Not like all my stuff was deleted and, you had to change the email to give me back control of the account right???

I don't understand how there is no evidence and as of right now 2000 hours of ESO have been completely wiped. I love ESO and, I really don't want to stop playing but, I can't see myself ever working back to where I was and I am no doubt very very disappointed. Sucks to be me right now.

Word of advice, lock down your Xbox One's with a passcode.. its not worth it.

I vie for transparency in relationships, but I have always held the belief that passwords, PINs, etc. should always stay secret.

I totally do not understand what "switched over my account" means. This tells me that there is something in this story that you forgot to include?

I've never really had an issues with eso support. They've always replied within a few hours and never have to escalate things.

I'm talking with like three different support people right now its kind of weird lol but, after repeating telling me they couldn't restore my character out of nowhere I receive an email from Ben telling me he restored my character.. As far as gear goes I'm screwed but damn, I'll take it. Much love Ben.

One benefit of sub games, WOW tend to be very fast in rolling back your account if compromised.
They know that an player who get his account wiped is unlikely to start over and they loose the $120/ year.
Makes me wonder if eso+ or buying plenty of crowns give you an premium at support?
    it would make economical sense.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

No that's definitely not the case.. I've spent hundreds on this game and, I'm not going to lie and say that wasn't the worst support I've ever had in any industry. I practically had to beg for replies and, all the way up until my character was restored it really did seem like they were telling me go away. Lol. The character is bare right now despite having the majority of monster sets and some maelstrom weapons when I last played on him. On top of that all my gold gear and 1.4million in gold, gone lol.

Oh well the gear grind resets.. lol.. Kind of like my own mini screwed up expansion. Its gonna be hell lol..

Despite everything the situation was resolved in the end and I am thankful for that. Losing my main would of definitely ruined it for me.

    Again total incompetence in action.
WOW solution is to roll back your character to last you did content before deletion.

And that paying customers get premium is a bit ugly but makes sense somebody who spent $100 in crown is more valuable for ZoS than one who spent nothing and bought the game on steam sale.

Well at least you got your characters back. How did they get deleted in the first place? By your partner?

"Partner at the time" seems like you never changed your info. Your ex wanted revenge. Never share any info with anyone.

Wow that's actually pretty awesome, I wish something like that was in place.

Yeah but if that was the case why didn't I get taken care of? I consistently sub to eso plus when I'm home to play, sometime it expires while I'm gone but I always resub when I get back and sometimes even buy crowns on the side from time to time. Maybe sometimes people just get lucky or there situation is easily fixed so they get a quicker response time while my massive headache of a situation gets put on the backburner.

Either way it was a long week waiting for my character to be restored and the whole time I had to try to get interaction through other channels because of how bad it was. I imagine some people would be less inclined to care as much as me about having to deal with support and just stop playing altogether. I thank them for doing what they can but, yeah I most likely wont be resubbing or buying crowns for awhile.

Getting the character back was great but, I'm beginning to see how daunting it's going to be to get back to where I was. I had a lot more time then I do now when I first got to where I was and, I'm beginning to doubt my character will be able to build back to that point so easily. We'll see how it goes.
