I am happy with Homestead to a point but all in all, the achievement vendors are starting to frustrate me to pieces. Please @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom or whoever, FIX THEM. There are way too many that the description does not match the item or the preview and what it actually is is totally different. Case in point: Hope of Rivenspire. Look at it.
I paid for a lantern wrapped by a lizard/dragon/serpent that you can clearly see in the descript and icon of the item, NOT a stone post/marker/thing wrapped in vines. Oh look it says blue light yet it has a regular flame. This is the second time I've gone after an achievement furnishing item only to have it be something completely different or off from it's description (The first time are the Tanzielwhatev lights on AD side that tell you they are supposed to be blue yet are yellow).
And because the vendors do not offer previews nor do the achievement items show up in the list that is a part of the house preview, you basically do not know what it is you are getting unless it's in someone else's home, you can find an image of it on a fan website or by some miracle someone made an add-on that does what should have been in game in the first place. This really needs to be fixed as I'm getting very wary over the fact that I will pretty much need to alt tab and look up anything the achievement vendors sell on the internet just to see if I can find a picture of it to make sure I'm actually getting what I think I'm getting. I was really looking forward to having a cool lantern or glowy statue too.
So for others, PLEASE make use of this post and post what you've found so we can see how many items need to be fixed.
There should be a proper preview system in this game with everything. Housing, weapons and armour included. They've addressed this slightly with the preview function on the furniture crafting, but this feature should extend to crafting weapons, armour and purchasing stuff from vendors. It's a basic feature which really should of been in the game from the beginning. It really confuses and disappoints me that such a basic and essential feature is consistently overlooked. In the meantime OP, head to esofashion.com. They've got all the achievement furnishings there.

Dont quote me on this as I haven't messed with housing yet but,too my knowledge the icon up top is just a standard place holder pic. I think its the same for items in a certain category. As for the blue light, I think that just means its a blue quality(rare) light/item. They really
Should have implemented a preview option for furnishings. I can see where the I frustrating. But keep what I said in mind. Blue means obviously its harder too obtain via achievements than a green. I'm pretty sure thats what's going on. Keep in mid though I haven't messed with housing though. Just what I've seen from YouTube, forums and the way most things are in game.

I agree but keep in mind a preview feature is alot more work than you may think. There are alot of styles and variables in eso. It should have been in at launch. It would be alot of work for zos too implement it now, which is why I don't think they have. Pretty sure they're too focused on other things. And sadly I doubt we will ever see a preview system fully implemented.

They have one when you're crafting?

@DrkHunter86 They do not mean quality as it's a purple quality item, it clearly says that it should be a blue light. Even if that is a placeholder (which shouldn't be live and shows they rushed through this) and should be a lamppost, it should look like this:
As those are the ones all over Rivenspire.

You are right, the description of the item is describing the lampposts from Rivenspire which can be found throughout the zone and also in other places such as Glenumbra. I was extremely disappointed that the achievement lamppost did not have the blue flame as described and like the one that it is supposed to model. I hope that these items are fixed at some point.
Like others have said, it is probably best to go to websites that list furniture before you buy, especially since the achievement furniture can be rather costly.

I would be disappointed if they DO change it to blue considering I spent 60k on lights to match the look I was going for at strident springs. I looked on eso fashion to preview before buying. If anything, they should just change the description and add in the version with the blue flame to the luxury vendor or something.
