You and people who answered you so far just don't seem to understand each other. Of course it doesn't take 100 runs of a dungeon to complete any set, including bsw. It usually only takes about 10 runs, maybe 15 even if you unlucky. So you are already atleast done half of the grinding, run it few more times and you will get you jewelry and complete the set.

What others were talking here is getting the set with each piece in same trait such as divines for example. That would take 100-500 runs not just getting a full set in ANY trait, and that is what you want right ? Again, for that you need 1-15 runs usually

It took my self and 3 guildie about 50 runs before we saw our first purple necklace. In those runs I also never personally got the unique ring drop, my rng was pretty terrible in COA.

Getting armor on traits isn't bad, but weapons should drop from all the bosses just like armor, rng is terrible in this game.

Wouldn't be so bad if the developers let us sell the damn sets. Hell 100k, 200k, even for 500k per ring or neckless I have no problem with. Coin is no issue with me, but time is a whole another thing.

Two great guides on how to farm this set quickly if you have the treasure hunter passive:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/314966/definitive-city-of-ash-i-chest-and-sack-farming-guide-the-burning/p1

    and:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/302171/spellweave-the-burning-continues

On average there are 2 to 3 chests per run.
The purple jewlery is rng in the advanced and master chests in veteran mode.

I ran COA1 vet for purple jewellery, this was the easiest to get, it drops often and most people already have it in group or do not want it so give it to you for free if you ask for it in trade. I usually give them some gold anyway for being nice.

I then ran COA1 normal solo over and over for all the divines armor and sharpened staffs. My experience was this.

Made a lot of gold farming and learning all the locations of heavy bags, got kutas a few times and loads of gold tempers from the mats from heavy bags when refining.

Farmed the locked chests, they are specific locations and are loads of them all in close spots as COA1 map is small and have random spawns but they do drops weapon and armor sets quite often, some even say better chances in chests than boss drops. The champion points bonus for better rewards from chests DOES make a difference, I instantly noticed more sets dropping than trash and better quality. Still RNG though.

I got the divines armor very quickly all pieces over a couple dozen runs solo in normal but not as quick as I got the jewellery. Takes about 10-15mins per run once you get a good route and learning all the chest location spawns.

All the chests have a chance to drop sharpened destro staffs but only the last boss has chance to drop weapons out of all the boss's, so once you farmed all the armor, killing the other boss's is only needed to get to the last boss for the weapon chance.

Now for the destro sharpened staffs lightning and flame, this is where your chances just suck and suck more. Expect to have to do hundreds of runs and still not get one. Closest I got was a flame training staff...coz ZOS hate me.

BSW may be good, but it's quickly becoming a waste of time. I've been through Vet City of Ash seven times now, and the final boss has yet to drop me any BSW, all he keeps dropping is Sunderflame or some other damn set piece. Seven times I've been through that dungeon with no BSW jewelry drop, and I can only imangine how many times I'll have to play it to get all three pieces of jewelry

I farmed this with a group of same level people and we got all we needed in about 10 or 15 runs, just by mixing and matching items from the drops between the 4 of us. Was one of the easier farms I've done because vCOA1 is so short and so easy.

Make sure you run with people of CP160 plus, because they'll give you the jewellery they already have, and vice-versa. Check ALL chest locations, don't just run through the shortest most obvious path. Take the pieces fpr the body armour locations you want in whatever trait drops, then iterate and improve trait, maybe as a natural output of your ongoing pledges.

Honestly, I realise RNG is a big factor in this ever-so-grindy game, but 500 runs to get two pieces of armour (being as the 3 jewellery drop all the time) is bollocks IME.

Do Vet CoA 1 atleast, so you can get purple jewelery

Be nice if the final boss actually dropped some spellweave. I've done the dungeon 5 times so far, and haven't gotten any jewelry, weapons, or sheild. And all the other bosses just been dropping me the damn hats.

I may have to look for an alternative set at this rate.

    5 times?
Wow that's so many runs, I'd complain to ZOS about that.
    Maybe submit a ticket?

are you serious or troll? or do you meant ONLY 5 times. kids these day's doesn't know a real grind

I don't have a guild or friends to run with, as well the activity find groups that I get into do not want to give up their BSW drops. So none of this is possible for me. If you want more information just look at some of the previous posts I made.

A hundred times? Well that pretty much makes it clear for me. Just going to drop the set and look for an alternative in the venders. I'm not going to waste 3 - 5 weeks for a set.

Where would the feeling of accomplishment be if you could get your BiS gear in just a few hours? :)

In addition to what's already been said, my suggestion: Use BoE/crafted sets (Mother's Sorrow, Julianos e.g.) until you get a set of BSW in ANY traits (aside from training/prosperous). Traits do play a role, but it's not that huge. The set itself is worth using even if some traits aren't perfect.

Then while you continue playing, you'll quite probably run CoA again every now and then. And I personally quite like the experience of improving my current gear by getting a missing Divines piece as a "byproduct". ;)

For the big pieces (head, chest, pants) Infused is usually almost as good as Divines.

Also, don't make getting a sharpened weapon your mission. The drop chance for those are indeed really really bad. If you get one by chance, all the better. But if not, never mind. Go with crafted or set-less weapons. For a magicka class / staff user, the additional bonus of a 4-piece set is for the most part not that big compared to a 3-piece plus set-less weapon. E.g. with 4 pieces Moondancer you get an additional 120 or something spell damage.

RPGs are about gradual progress and improvement. You don't need BiS gear right from the start. Your DPS won't by abysmally bad if you use Julianos instead of BSW. It will much rather be abysmally bad if you don't know your skills and rotation. ;)

The issue with this is in PvP. Even if you have the right armor set, but just one incorrect trait will make a huge difference. In PvP you either get the correct set with correct traits, or you endlessly die. In PvP every thing has to be 120% correcty when it comes to your player build. Just one small adjustment changes everything.
