Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

The new Wild Hunt hair-style looks great with the Sea Viper Armor disguise, but..

I assumed that because I was able to preview the hairstyle with the disguise equipped in the crown store, I thought I would be able to actually wear the hairstyle along with the disguise once I have it in my collection, but apparently that was never the case.
ZOS, please allow us to wear collectable hairstyles and adornments along with disguises..
This should've been on your To-Do list on QoL improvements by now.

Wow that really does look nice with your character! A shame it doesn't work in conjunction with disguises. Honestly they should just make all disguises fully functional costumes that can be obtained in game. The game could use more of those.

It would be nice if they made disguises into costumes after you completed the quest you got them from.

I wish! If they could give us an option to save them into our costumes menu with the other costumes, I'd bake them a batch of cookies.

this is an excellent feature request that i could see them implementing (unlock costume as collection upon quest complete). commenting to promote visibility.

Disguises are supposed to help you infiltrate enemy territory. A costume you can dye, with colored hair, is not going to help you blend in, nor will it disguise you. So enemy-removable disguises need to remain fundamentally separate items from the more permanent costumes in the game.

Sea Viper disguise is Ancient Elf medium armor with a few modifications.

I'm already skilled in the art of common sense, thanks.
My complaint was why disguises seem to revert you back to your original character creation, despite wearing collectable hairstyles and adornments purchased from the crown store. I just asked ZOS this and apparently it's because the new hairstyles you've purchased from the crown store also work like "disguises", so they can't work together. Nevertheless I'm still disappointed that the hairstyle I've spent money for doesn't work in conjunction with the outfit I want my character to wear in-game.

It's just isn't the same though. Now if the armor came in sleeveless and without the loincloth, it'd be something towards my taste. I just wish the disguise had a costume counterpart with the same look.

Which is why I said after you complete the quest that uses the disguise it becomes a costume, not that disguises are just costumes from the start.

Yup. And we have been saying THAT for... well, ever since launch, more or less. Hasn't happened yet. And it wouldn't be difficult - keep the current system while the quest is in effect, for the chance to "loose your disguise" if spotted, and then remove it at quest completion and unlock a costume with the same visuals but no disguise effect upon quest completion. And since the game does keep track of which quest is completed and which is not... that would be easy enough to do retroactively as well.
But hey, once upon a time even costumes were an inventory item... so mabe someday they will manage to fix up our disguise storage woes as well (Yeah, my main kept -every- disguise, for roleplay reasons... and its clogging up her inventory something fierce!)

Yup disguises reset your appearance back to your original look. I'd like it and would use more disguises if this wasn't the case.

I'm pretty sure the Sea viper disguise is actually the same style armor as Ancient Elf medium

Not exactly the same, the main difference it being sleeveless and without a loincloth.

    @bus10 I'm pretty sure theirs a workaround. Equip the costume and hair style. Then under your options menu select gameplay and scroll down to "hide helmet" and select "on". It works for me I have the black marsh keep outfit (closest to a shirtless costume) so I can show off my tattoos and other body markings And the helmet would hide my tats and hair, I wanted to see my braided dredds too(;

I can attest to this working. I have this hairstyle with the Dark Seducer costume while using the hide helmet option ad it works fine.

Not saying this isn't a cool idea, although that would be a hell of a long menu to scroll through but what you're really asking ZoS to do is to give away a bunch of costumes for free that they could otherwise sell on the crown store.
I don't always drink Skooma, but when I do I go to the Southwall Corner Club. May you walk on warm sands my friends.

Except that they are already available for "free". We are already wearing them in-game, they just don't have as much functionality as actual costumes. If they offered a disguise that is already in-game as a costume in the crown store, I wouldn't bother buying it since I already have it in-game, even if I have to sacrifice other aspects like hairstyle and inventory space. So I doubt they would lose money by offering the disguises as unlockable costumes for quest rewards.

And still can/SHOULD. The whole point of a disguise is to blend in, and vampires don't.

"Hey, Jim-Bob, did we always have a vampire in our unit sprinting around everywhere?"

"Uh...I dunno, Bob-Jim. They're wearing our armor though, so it must be legitimate."
