Tempering Alloy Price Tank Under 6.5K

I am having so much trouble selling tempering alloy at all unless marked below the major market prices . I do not understand if I am selling in a good location with the price even at 7k gold each , why these things will NOT sell forever . I run around and see there are tons of these available at the same price I am listing . Enough to make gold weapons for years !

Are the customers just not buying tempering alloy at all right now ? Why are alot of the vendors so over stocked with them ? What IS the value of gold black smithing mats really ? I see some people with the same problem selling then for 5.5 and 6k now . Has these gold mats really tanked this much ?

Not just tempering alloy not selling. Almost everything at the moment. Sales appear to have gone from one extreme to the other. Mind you, did sell 75k worth of alloy, through a C.O.D. last week.

Tempering Alloys are back to the price they were at pre-One Tamriel. The reason they skyrocketed in OT was due to all of the new sets and market fixing within the major trade guilds.

The price of Alloys capped out which led a lot of the price fixers to pull out and profit. Now that there isn't as large of demand for them as when everyone was gear chasing the next FOTM build, things are settling out. I don't predict the price of Alloys to rise to such a height until the next major gear patch. Which we're unsure when that will be.

Wouldn't be smarter to hold onto it and wait for the price to stabilize or is this just where the new prices are going to float for now on ?

Wow, surprised you trusted a Cod, usually all of them are scams now. I'm trying to sell my stack of 150 Alloys at 6.8 each, but not budging at all and on a vendor with hardly any alloy on it.

If your smart you would save all gold mats you can untill morrowind drops. A new class as well as new sets will ensure people wanting too buy them up in droves. Personally I never sell my gold mats as I've currently got 8 characters and always want enough for new builds if they come out and are viable. Gold mats always go up when major patches drop as there's usually new sets and builds available, than a few months after they drop again. Supply and demand in eso lol. Also just like in real life eso has price fixing where major guilds stockpile and jack prices up around these patches. So if your buying gold mats buy them now and save them for morrowind. This is how ive made millions of gold in eso and just how major guilds do as well.

Supply has gone up, too. With Homestead, lots of players farming ore looking for regulus. That ore gets sold/refined and some turns into tempering alloys. No one but hardcore farmers were hitting ore nodes before Homestead. Crafted gear was nothing special and most players had plenty of CP160 mats. Now that there is a reason to farm crafting nodes again, supply of upgrade mats has gone way up. Once people have their houses all furnished, farming for regulus and heartwood and whatnot will go down. Raw mats farmed will go down. Upgrade mats farmed will go down. Prices will slowly go back up.

PC has had a extra year as well in-game to provide more Temp Alloys in it's Economy as well..

I remember when I first came to Console and everything was so damn expensive, but I did make good money back then as well..

One thing that I felt was so funny was that Daedric Hearts were being sold at 5k each when console launched, to me that was so Hilarious since I was high/max level and could just go farm them in the upper VR areas at the time, anytime I wanted..

"Daedric" is a staple of TES armor styles. What fans expected was armor that looked like Xivkyn.

I'd sell you some July 1 5500 puts, at a 375 premium as long as we keep it to 10 a contract. Shouldn't be a bad price considering the implied volatility after Morrowind and a long theta with a stable delta.

That, as it turns out, is not unusual. I certainly thought it was until I made some new friends who happened to relentlessly farm mobs as they just started playing 3 weeks ago and come from the grindiest of games (AC, EQ, DAoC, etc.).

Sadly, some officer in their guild told them, when asked "what should I do with these 10,000 raw leather and raw rubedo?" to "just vendor them." :| That and a lot of other astonishingly incorrect information.

When they found out I could refine them for them they were pretty happy but I talked them into getting skill points to refine stuff and explained the current economy for such things. I almost fainted dead away when they gave me thousands and thousands of clean pelts and wax.

The temper prices are easy enough to explain. People like me who have a full roster of maxed crafters refused to do writs as they gave back garbage and were a horrible waste of time every day. Until master writs came along. I went from buying the occasional tempers to for the first time in a year having 200 rather than around 6 at any given time to the point where I upgraded the hell out of friends' equipment.

Hirelings provided plenty of everything non-gold but now having a reason to do 50ish writs a day radically changed the amount of gold upgrade mats floating around.

It also forced people like me to farm nodes for the first time in forever but that had an insignificant change in the amount of gold mats in comparison to doing a bajillion writs.

I kinda fall into the hardcore crafter category. My mains a master crafter in everything. That said I don't sell my gold mats. As far as master craft in writs go, myself and I'm sure many many others have stopped doing them as the cost vs reward is ridiculous. I farm every node i come across no matter what and take everything lol. Gold mats dropping in price is a combo of many factors. 1. Demand is down.2. Supply is up because of increased farming and bots. And so on. But like I said above. Anyone smart enough knows now is not the time too sell. An example, I have almost 200 of each gold mat and if I sold them all now at say 6k gold for alloys id make 1.2 mil. If I Wait untill morrowind and the price goes back up too 14k per ill make around 2.8 mill. Minus guild cost etc. Again this is why some people/and guilds always have millions upon millions of gold. On xb na my largest trade guild always has between 20-25 million gold in the bank. Theres a reason.

Prices go down when there's too much stock, not the other way around. There are too many people farming gold tempers than the economy needs.

As was explained, no new sets have been released since One Tamriel and the meta hasn't changed much in terms of what's BiS for each class, so most people have been sitting on their BiS items for a while now and have no need to gold anything out.

"just vendor them" lol . . . Yes, I have seen people selling ridiculous amounts of decorative wax, clean pelts, which drop in abundance from certain mobs (ahem, dreugh). Interesting there is a new influx of players from grindy games who have no problem grinding for mats, in fact, I'm sure the grinding must seem easier for them.

At the same time, new players who have used bots in the past are probably contributin to some of the increased bot activity. I mean, if the habit of using bots has carried over from other gaming experiences, why not try it in ESO*? (*BOTs are bad, I do not endrose or tolerate their use in any game)

Damn dirty bots . This was a very safe spot in the market for a long time . I didn't know they had bot trains harvesting ore . I knew about the pelts , waxes , leather that co,e from killing creatures but harvesting ore I thought would be difficult for them to bot because the spawns change placement . Guess I was wrong . That is irritating .

Prices have gone down because homestead has done exactly what it's meant to a syphoned huge amounts of gold out of the system, as a result the prices drop and the remaining gold effectively becomes more valuable, basic economics really :)

Bots are tanking prices. Trains of them running in shadowfen, auridon etc. Trade guild leaders need to be more careful about having botters in their guilds. It's easy to tell which ones do - single people with listings of over a thousand clean pelt, decorative wax, hide scraps etc.

Offer is rising because people are farming like mad for furniture mats, because they need cash for housing, and because there aren't as many items to sell as before, since many have been made available via NPCs (Columbine, Repora, Hakeijo, etc.). People want to sell gold tempers because it's one of the few "valuable" items left for replenishing cash.

Demand is sinking because there's no new content to run or new gear or metabuild to try. Master writs don't drop often enough to compensate that, even though there are probably more people/characters doing writs than pre-Homestead.

Housing has acted as a huge gold sink (was much needed) so there's less currency altogether in the economy, and people have stuff (furniture) to spend their money on. They don't spend 80K-120K to simply make one piece of armor legendary as easily as before, because now they've something else, currently more attractive, to spend their money on. And they have less money because they purchased houses.

That's all there's to it, really. We should keep our tempers until Morrowind release. At least, that's what I do.

Here's the problem, every time a new DLC is on the horizon, people start hoarding tempers thinking they will sell for twice as much upon release. That never happens, instead the market gets flooded with expensive tempers that nobody is buying, which are eventually sold below market value out of desperation.

The prices won't change overnight, it never has, It will be a slow process that might take months. Call me a pessimist, but i don't think we will ever see tempers going for 10k again. 7k perhaps, if we're lucky.

The golden age of farming is behind us.
