Favorite thing about eso?

My favorite thing about eso is I feel if we lived in a magical world hundreds of years ago this game world truly be the world. The style of the buildings and the amount of npcs around all needing help with quests and the thieving system and the open world and the enemies we face I think it's realistic feeling. If I go onto wow or ff14 everything looks and feels to fairy tail while this game looks and feels real.

For me this is my favorite thing about the game when I log in and go do things and look around.

So tell me....what is your favorite thing about this game and why do you love it so much more then other games?

I love being able to use any weapon with any class. It's kind of taken for granted by many but it is something that other MMOs do not have.

There are so many things I love! But if I had to pick just one, it would be the graphics. :)

Fishing is the best part of the game. Really a great way to pass the time and an achievement that comes with a fabulous title.

That's what I was thinking. I get what they mean with the graphical style and all, but I'm not so sure giant lizard beats and such really come into play with realism lol

It's a more realistic style than the cartoon play doh art direction of swtor. Or the comic book style of dcuo. Or the 72 dpi pixels painted on a flat plane of wow.

my Bosmer boys really are very good looking unlike the massive amount of mods I needed to make elves palatable in Skyrim.

But my favorite thing is the writing. I love the darker quest elements you could gloss over but really are insidious when you think about it. Too many people I feel skip through to the quest objective with out reading about the abuse, abandonment, flesh trade, drug habits, corruption and all the rest that make Tamriel vibrant and "real".

Nothing. Every day I log in and hate myself and hate the game. It's an addiction and every time there is lag, my bar won't swap, an ability doesn't work or the hundreds of bugs I run into, I regret investing so much time & money into this broken mess.

Agreed. I see a lot of hate for quests and complaints that they are so boring. I generally find myself getting engrossed in them and feeling sad when a certain line ends that I was enjoying. It's like finishing really small scaled books.

I wish there was an alternative at times that appealed.
That may sound sadface, but it's not, its better by a long way than other options.

The books and other written materials notes and such. A lot of RPG video games have a quest where you need a book or scroll to complete the quest. If the item is readable (very rare)its almost always very brief. This game in the other hand has books on history philosophy, religion, and other subjects there is even a play yes someone at Bethesda Games wrote a short play and put it in the game. It the fact that there is literally hundreds or readable items with thousands of words written for the game that have no purpose other than to create immersion. That makes ESO and the Elder Scrolls franchise one of the best games in the world.

Imperial City is my kind of design, PVP and PVE both, monsters moving around, surprises like Chest and Portals, not to mention Risk and Reward. Really loved it. Wish the entire game was like that.

I like that we have access to huge part of Tamriel and everyone can travel to favourite race's land and do quest about that, find out more about the race and history... and every place has its own unique ambience.

I came to the game because at a lore level, it's part of the TES series, even though it's a ZOS game instead of Bethesda. Now that I'm here, the things I love most are the fact that I can explore much (sadly not yet all) of Tamriel, and the feeling that I'm in a living breathing environment with other RL players all around me, rather than playing in a vacuum by myself with just NPC's and nobody else. Now, I do love the complete freedom in the standalone games because you're not limited to MMO-type restrictions such as time constraints because of players being all over the world, and absence of any modding beyond the UI, but being among other players makes up for a lot of it.

Quests that actually feel like quests. Soooooo tired of "kill 10 of these, collect 6 of those." They spent a lot of time building these quests.

FF 14 feels a lot more magical than eso lol. With too many options for customization of gears, mounts and even classes and abilities. I have run so many trials and dungeons in that game and it's so rare people running the same gears and costumes. The variety of choise makes it feels real when it comes to fantasy worlds. And you can be all the classes in one character thank god. One thing I like about eso is the realism of the combat system. When you dodge, when you hit. It feels real. Graphic wise I don't care much for the graphics. That's the only good thing I think off on eso is the combat system.
